摘要: A network learns capability information indicating whether a user equipment (UE) is capable of simultaneous and independent operation in multiple component carriers (CCs). The network configures a monitoring pattern for each of multiple CCs that are configured for the UE in dependence on the received capability information. The capability information derives from the UE's RF layout; if the UE is capable of such simultaneous and independent operation the network can assign for the CCs different monitoring patterns that are independent of one another and the UE will have no gaps where it cannot take or send a measurement. This knowledge is particularly useful if the CCs are frequency non-contiguous with one another. If the UE is not so capable, the network must assign monitoring patterns to that UE for all its configured CCs that are not independent of one another.

摘要: The negative impacts on a user equipment (UE) caused by the UE's support in network self-configuration and optimization is limited to an acceptable level by controlling user equipment measurements in a network to configure neighbor lists; requesting one or more measurements; the user equipment performing measurements in one or more adjacent cells in response to one or more measurement requests; reporting the measurements; and identifying cells in the network to be included in the neighbor list such that the user equipment measurements support network self-configuration and optimization.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing half duplex user equipment in a packet based radio frequency signaling communication system. User equipment with half duplex receiver and half duplex transmitter on IC providing a transceiver capability performs a cycle of receiving downlink messages for a predetermined number of sub frames, shifting to a transmit mode, transmitting uplink messages for the predetermined number of sub frames, shifting to a receive mode, and repeating the cycle of half duplex sub frames. A discontinuous reception function performs a DRX protocol wherein power is reduced to the transceiver for a period of time. A determination is made at the end of the discontinuous reception period to see if the half duplex cycle is at an uplink sub frame; if so, the end of the discontinuous reception is shifted by the user equipment to a downlink sub frame by adding a delay.

摘要: In an exemplary embodiment there is sent to a user equipment UE downlink control information DCI comprising an indication of an access codeword and an indication that at least one component carrier CC is activated for the UE, and there is received from the UE the access codeword which is an acknowledgement that the UE has activated the at least one CC. The access codeword is received on an uplink channel which a) lies in the at least one activated CC if there is an activated uplink channel in the activated CC, or b) is previously activated if there is no activated uplink channel in the activated CC. In another embodiment DCI comprising the above two indications is received from a network, the received indications are used to select and access the at least one CC; and activating the CC is acknowledged by sending the access codeword.

摘要: A user equipment (UE) receives a first dynamic resource allocation on a first channel (PDCCH), then sends data according to the first resource allocation. During a time at which an ACK/NACK for the sent data is scheduled to occur on a second channel (PHICH), the UE is engaging in an activity that takes priority over the ACK/NACK. The UE then receives a second dynamic resource allocation on the first channel and determines the ACK/NACK for the sent data from the second dynamic resource allocation. The determining can be direct, as in receiving a zero-valued resource allocation; or it may be indirect as in mapping the second dynamic resource allocation to the second channel and receiving the acknowledgement on the second channel after that mapping. Also detailed are similar mirror actions from the Node B's perspective, as well as apparatus, methods, and embodied computer programs.

摘要: The exemplary embodiments of the invention utilize techniques that provide an amount of scheduling flexibility for retransmissions (e.g., downlink HARQ retransmissions) while also limiting the amount of time within which a UE can expect retransmissions. Thus, the network retains scheduling flexibility while the UE can still operate in DRX, for example. In one exemplary embodiment, a method includes: receiving an initial transmission of information; and receiving a retransmission of the information, where the retransmission is received within a window of time having a predetermined duration, where the window of time is arranged to begin at a predetermined time or after a predetermined time interval. In further exemplary embodiments, the predetermined duration of the window of time is measured using a DRX retransmission timer and/or the predetermined time or the predetermined time interval is measured using a HARQ RTT timer.
