Abstract: A powered fastener driver includes a driver blade movable from a top-dead-center (TDC) position to a bottom-dead-center (BDC) position for driving a fastener into a workpiece and a drive unit for providing torque to move the driver blade from the BDC position toward the TDC position. A kickout arrangement is at least partially defined by an outer surface on one of a torque output member and a torque input member and an aperture formed in the other of the torque output member and the torque input member in which the outer surface is received. The kickout arrangement configured to permit limited rotation of the torque output member relative to the torque input member between a first position and a second position.

Abstract: A trigger assembly, for use with a power tool having an electric motor, includes a trigger, a spring configured to bias the trigger towards a first position, a conductor coupled for movement with the trigger, and a printed circuit board. The printed circuit board has an inductive sensor thereon responsive to relative movement between the conductor and the inductive sensor caused by movement of the trigger. An output of the inductive sensor is used to activate the electric motor.

Abstract: An anvil for an impact tool including an impact receiving portion at an end of the anvil, the impact receiving portion including a lug having an impact receiving surface that receives impact from a hammer of the rotary power tool, a shank portion extending from the impact receiving portion, a drive portion located at an end of the shank portion opposite from the impact receiving portion, the drive portion including a plurality of drive surfaces configured to engage a tool bit, and a hardened layer formed on at least one of the drive portion or the impact receiving surface, the hardened layer having a higher hardness than a remaining portion of the anvil. The hardened layer is formed by a heating process.

Abstract: A transducer assembly for use in a power tool including a housing, a motor, an output shaft that drives a workpiece about a central axis, and a transmission. The transducer assembly includes a transducer positioned between the motor and the transmission. The transducer including an inner hub being rotationally affixed to the housing, an outer rim affixed to a rotatable component of the transmission, a plurality of webs extending radially outward from the inner hub to the outer rim, and a sensor affixed to each of the webs for detecting strain of each of the webs in response to a reaction torque applied to the transmission from the output shaft. A width of each of the webs gradually tapers from at least one of the outer rim or the inner hub toward a midpoint of each of the webs in a direction perpendicular to the central axis.

The drive assembly includes a camshaft driven by the motor for rotation about an axis, an anvil extending from the front housing, and a hammer configured to reciprocate along a travel portion of the camshaft between a rearmost position and a forwardmost position to deliver rotational impacts to the anvil in response to rotation of the camshaft.

The gear assembly includes a ring gear and a plurality of planet gears meshed with the ring gear. Each of the plurality of planet gears is coupled to the carrier of the camshaft, and the ring gear rotationally and radially supports the rear portion of the camshaft via the plurality of planet gears.
