Abstract: A belt conveyor (1), a belt conveyor system and a box template production system. Said belt conveyor comprising an endless loop of belt (3) which is rotating about at least two pulleys (5a, 5b) comprised in the belt conveyor, whereby different parts of the belt (3) will constitute an upper surface (7) for transporting goods during run, the belt conveyer (1) further comprising a frame (9) holding said at least two pulleys (5a, 5b) and a belt supporting device (11) configured for supporting the belt between the at least two pulleys while allowing the belt (3) to slide over the belt supporting device (11), wherein said belt (3) comprises a substantially plane middle part (13) along the length of the belt and two edge areas (13a, 13b), one provided on each side of the middle part (13), wherein at least one of said edge areas (13a, 13b) is sloped towards an opposite part of the belt in the endless loop at least when said at least one edge area (13a, 13b) constitutes a part of the upper surface of the belt.

Abstract: A system that converts sheet material into packaging templates includes a converting assembly that performs conversion functions, such as cutting, creasing, and scoring, on the sheet material as the sheet material moves through the converting machine in a first direction. The converting assembly may be mounted on a frame such that the converting assembly is elevated above a support surface. One or more longhead converting tools performs conversion functions on the sheet material in a first direction and a crosshead converting tool performs conversion functions on the sheet material in a second direction in order to create packaging templates.

Abstract: Treating packaging as a pick item. Embodiments include methods, systems, and computer program products for determining a container size of a container for packaging one or more items. An identity of one or more items that are to be packaged into a container is received. Corresponding three-dimensional dimensions of each of the one or more items are identified. A container size of the container is calculated based on the corresponding three-dimensional dimensions of each of the one or more items. The calculated container size is configured to accommodate all of the one or more items within the container. The container is produced, the container having at least the calculated size. In some embodiments, the container can then be sent to a pack station as a pick item.

Abstract: Foldable templates include sheet material with a front surface and a retaining element connected to the sheet material extending over at least a portion of the front surface. In box insert configurations, the sheet material has transverse and longitudinal creases, the retaining element extending across the creases. In retaining box configurations, the sheet material includes a base panel and opposing longitudinal side walls, with transverse creases extending across the base panel and side walls. In each template, folding the sheet material upward along transverse creases opens a receiving area between the front surface and retaining element to receive a product. In the box insert configuration, folding the sheet material downward underneath the front surface along transverse creases pulls the retaining element tight over the product. In the retaining box configuration, folding the side walls upward flattens the transverse creases and pulls the retaining element tight over the product.

Abstract: Systems and methods for folding and stacking fanfold corrugated board material. A system may include a rotatable member (e.g., a wheel) having a number of head pieces disposed thereon. Each head piece has a vacuum setting that can be used to pick up a portion of a length of fanfold and hold it while the rotatable member rotates around its axis and a second blower setting that blows the portion of the length of fanfold that was picked up and rotated around the rotatable member down onto a stack of fan fold. Such a system is capable of forming regular and consistent stacks of fanfold material efficiently and cost effectively without the need for significant human intervention.

Abstract: A foldable box template includes first, second, third, fourth, and fifth segments. Each of the segments has a length, a width, and one or more flaps. The first segment is positioned at a first end of the template and the fifth segment is positioned at a second, opposing end of the template. The sum of the lengths of the first segment and the fifth segment is generally equal to the length of the third segment. As a result, the first and fifth segments form a seam on a sidewall of a box formed from the box template. In some cases, the seam formed by the first and fifth segments is offset from seams formed in top and bottom surfaces of the box. The seam formed by the first and fifth segments is offset from a corner of the box.
