摘要： An improved cardboard box erecting machine for receiving stacks of folded cardboard boxes, and for opening the boxes and folding and/or securing the bottom flaps thereof.The various steps in erecting the cardboard box are each accomplished at a plurality of individual stations in the automatic erector, thereby allowing maximum throughput by minimizing the operations at any station prior to movement of the box to the next station. The erector includes numerous adjustments, including an adjustment in the longitudinal position of the lateral flap folding mechanism to provide the desired operation thereof regardless of the size of boxes being erected.

摘要： A device for erecting a folding carton and for holding the folding carton. The device includes a table formed of an elongated input segment and an elongated output segment. The segments are hinged together tandemwise. An anchor support member supports an input end of the input segment. An output support underlies an output end portion of the output segment. The anchor support member moves between a lowered position in which the segments of the table form a V-shape and a raised position in which the segments of the table are substantially horizontally aligned. Lower end flap of the carton engage the segments when in lowered position to partially fold the lower end flaps. The lower end flaps are further folded when the segments are advanced from the lowered position to the raised position. Side flap folding members are hingedly mounted on opposite sides of the table. The side flap folding members swing between a lowered position free of the table segments and a raised position underlying and supporting the lower side flaps in closed position. A pusher member slides the carton with folded lower flaps off the output end of the output segment to remove the carton from the table segments.

摘要： A pouch making machine which simultaneously creates perimeter seams for a plurality of pouches on a web and temporarily stores the seamed web in an accumulator at the conclusion of the seaming step, and then withdraws the web from the accumulator to sever the individual pouches from the web. The individual pouches are severed from the web by a cutoff knife that is moving at the same velocity as the web during the cut. The withdrawal of the web from the accumulator is carried on independent of the seaming step, except that regulating means is included to make the long term average web speed the same through the seaming step as through the cutoff step.

The sewing machine (28) comprises a sewing-machine needle mechanism (28b) provided with a sewing-machine needle (28a) and the looper mechanism (28d) having a needle plate (28c). This sewing machine (28) arranges the needle plate (28c) of the looper mechanism (28d) inside the connecting flap (12a) and the sewing-machine needle mechanism (28b) outside the connected flap (12b) and holds the position, rectangular in section, of the both sheets (W1. W2) of the corrugated cardboard box and intermittently moves them in parallel to the first folding line (10) and synchronizes the sewing-machine needle (28a) with the intermittent movement to reciprocally move it horizontally from the outside to the inside of the threading portion (S) so as to stitch the threading portion with threads.
