Abstract: An intermediary base station supporting mobile terminal (MT) functionality and/or a user equipment (UE) may receive a time alignment (TA) command and associated timer value from one or more distributed units (DUs) and/or a central unit (CU) of a parent base station. The TA command and timer value may be based on an experienced or potential timer expiration associated with a TA of a communication link. The TA command may specify an updated TA value and a timer reset for scheduling communications on the communication link. In some examples, the TA command may be in response to a TA command request provided by the MT or UE on allocated resources or configurations indicated by the parent base station. In other cases, the TA command may be in response to a random access procedure on allocated resources or configurations indicated by the parent base station.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first wireless node may receive, from a second wireless node, a first type of timing advance indicator, wherein the first type of timing advance indicator is associated with a first type of connection associated with a first group of wireless nodes, of a network, that includes the first wireless node and the second wireless node and is different from a second type of timing advance indicator used for a second type of connection associated with a second group of wireless nodes of the network. In some aspects, the first wireless node may synchronize a timing configuration of the first wireless node based at least in part on the first type of timing advance indicator. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: A relay node supporting mobile terminal (MT) functionality and distributed unit (DU) functionality may receive a timing advance (TA) value for uplink synchronization associated with a timing alignment timer from a parent node. In some cases, the timing alignment timer may expire prior to the relay node receiving a next TA value. Upon expiration of the timing alignment timer, the relay node may initiate a second timer (e.g., a transition timer) associated with the transitioning of a DU entity of the relay node to a DU transition state. The DU transition state is associated with certain DU behavior for serving child nodes while the transition timer is active. Configuration of the DU transition state may be identified by the relay node, or received from a parent node. In cases where the transition timer expires prior to receiving a next TA value, the DU may declare a loss of uplink synchronization.

Abstract: A base station central unit (CU) may receive a measurement report from one or more user equipments (UEs). The CU may identify a scheduling plan indication (SPI) for one or more scheduling nodes in a network, based at least in part on the received measurement reports. The SPI may specify a pattern of scheduling states, over a period of time, to be used by the one or more scheduling nodes to schedule communication resources for one or more UEs in the network. The scheduling states may (e.g., based on an interference profile determined from the received measurement reports) specify UEs or other communication resources for transmission scheduling decisions made by the scheduling nodes, or may specify beam patterns for beamforming procedures performed by the scheduling nodes. In some cases, the scheduling nodes may identify tentative SPIs, which the CU may pass amongst other scheduling nodes for distributed scheduling coordination schemes.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for multiple random access channel (RACH) message 1 (Msg1) transmission for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) ordered RACH are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform the multiple Msg1 transmission as part of a CFRA or CBRA procedure for access. The UE may perform the multiple Msg1 transmissions in a cyclic consecutive manner during configured RACH occasions or according to explicit time and frequency indications of a random access response (RAR) window. Based on the multiple Msg1 transmission procedure, the UE may reduce latency for random access procedure on the RACH and improve signaling throughput. In some cases, the UE may support beam correspondence and may perform multiple Msg1 transmissions to enhance multi-beam diversity during RACH transmission by performing transmission corresponding to RACH occasions mapped to different synchronization signal blocks (SSBs).

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first wireless node may receive, from a second wireless node, a round-trip time timing advance indicator, wherein the round-trip time timing advance indicator is different from a timing advance indicator used for an uplink transmission timing advance message. In some aspects, the first wireless node may synchronize a timing configuration of the first wireless node to at least one of the second wireless node or a third wireless node based at least in part on the round-trip time timing advance indicator. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus synchronization configuration in different operation modes using communications systems operating according to new radio (NR) technologies. For example, a method for wireless communications by a base station (BS) may include determining an operation mode of the BS, determining a transmission configuration of at least one of a one or more synchronization channels or a one or more synchronization signals based on the operation mode, and transmitting the one or more synchronization channels or the one or more synchronization signals based on the determined transmission configuration.
