Abstract: Wellbore treatment fluids are provided that include an aqueous component and an amphiphilic hyperbranched copolymer comprising the polymerized reaction product of at least a first monomer and a second monomer, where the first monomer comprises at least one surface reactive end group chosen from the group consisting of carboxylates, phosphonates, sulfonates, and zwitterions. Also provided are methods of modifying subsurface energy of a carbonate formation using the wellbore treatment fluids.

Abstract: In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a low-density treatment fluid includes a base water-control system and at least one light-weight filler material. The base water-control system may include an inorganic material system comprising an aqueous colloidal silica and a water-soluble chemical activator for gelling the colloidal silica, or the base water-control system may include an organic material system comprising of polymeric material. The low-density treatment fluid may have a density of from 0.1 g/cm3 to 0.75 g/cm3. Also described are methods of recovering a target fluid from a subterranean cavity using such a low-density treatment fluid.

Abstract: A chemical gel system having a polymer and a graphene oxide Janus nanosheets crosslinker for treating thief zones in carbonate formations. The polymer and graphene oxide Janus nanosheets crosslinker may form a crosslinked polymer gel to reduce or prevent water production via thief zones during hydrocarbon production. The graphene oxide Janus nanosheets crosslinker includes a first side having negatively charged functional groups and a second side having amines. The negatively charged functional groups may include carboxyl groups, negatively charged oxygen groups, and hydroxyl groups. Methods of reducing water production in a thief zone using the graphene oxide Janus nanosheets crosslinker and methods of manufacturing the graphene oxide Janus nanosheets crosslinker are also provided.

Abstract: A treatment fluid system for reducing permeability of high permeability zones in a subterranean reservoir formation comprising a fluid composition comprising a nano-crosslinker, the nano-crosslinker comprising a nanomaterial, and a crosslinker, wherein the crosslinker comprises a chemical group selected from the group consisting of carbonyl, sulfhydryl, amine and imine, wherein the nano-crosslinker is produced by a method selected from the group consisting of pre-treating the nanomaterial with the crosslinker such that the crosslinker has been functionalized onto the nanomaterial, embedding the crosslinker on the nanoparticle, grafting the crosslinker onto the nanomaterial, and coating the crosslinker on the nanomaterial, a base polymer, and a base fluid, the base fluid operable to suspend the fluid composition, wherein the base fluid comprises water, wherein the treatment fluid system is operable to reduce permeability of a high permeability zone in the subterranean reservoir formation.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a method of producing a viscoelastic surfactant (VES) fluid, the VES fluid comprising desulfated seawater. The method of producing the VES fluid comprises adding an alkaline earth metal halide to seawater to produce a sulfate precipitate. The method further comprises removing the sulfate precipitate to produce the desulfated water. The method further comprises adding a VES and one or more of a nanoparticle viscosity modifier or a polymeric modifier to the desulfated seawater. Other embodiments are directed to VES fluids that maintain a viscosity greater than 10 cP at temperatures above 250° F.
