A method and system of congestion control in a network are provided. A required quality of service (QoS) parameter, such as a maximum allowable latency, for a packet received at a queue in the network, and a route cost metric, such as accumulated and estimated latency, are determined, and the packet is either discarded if the route cost metric exceeds the required QoS parameter, or a discard bias value is set for the packet. Also, if the required QoS parameter exceeds the route cost metric, the method includes determining whether a congestion condition exists in the network, and if the congestion condition exists, biasing the packet for discard based on its latency if the route cost metric for the packet exceeds a threshold. The network may be an IP network, and a network such as a mobile ad hoc network (MANET).

A malfunction management unit (MMU) includes advanced diagnostic and set-up capabilities accessed through a display-based user interface. In general, the MMU is capable of displaying (1) monitor status information, wherein the monitor status information includes information relating to the status of at least a portion of the input signals; and (2) diagnostic information, wherein the diagnostic information includes an indication of fault type, and indication of faulty signals, and troubleshooting information associated with said fault type and relevant faulty signals. The diagnostic information includes a textual interpretation of the results of a field check analysis.

The microcatheter is provided with a small outside diameter and high degree of flexibility, to facilitate negotiation of small, tortuous vessels such as those encountered in intercranial catheterizations. The catheter is formed from a composite of a series of tubular elements, each extending axially for a different distance along the tubular body. A distal section on one or more of the tubular components is provided with a spiral cut, to modify the flexibility properties of the finished catheter. The catheter may also be provided with an inflatable balloon, and a valve to permit the use of a single lumen for both receiving a guidewire and for conveying inflation media.
