    摘要: A mechanism and accompanying method adapted for use with a user interface for manipulating complex data strings. In an example embodiment, the method includes providing a dialog box that includes a first user option to input data pertaining to a complex data string; using data input pertaining to the complex data string to selectively verify that portions of the complex data string represent valid portions; providing a first user option via the dialog box to employ data input pertaining to the complex data string as one or more search criteria to selectively perform a search of preexisting complex data strings; and providing search results in response thereto, wherein the search results are displayed within the dialog box. In a specific embodiment, the method further includes providing a mechanism via the dialog box to trigger creation of a complex data string that a user has specified via the dialog box when search results for the complex data string to be created do not include a match. The complex data string includes a Key Flex Field (KFF) code employed in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software application. Hence, mechanisms for inputting, creating, searching, and displaying complex data strings may occur within a single dialog box.

    摘要: A portion of microcode for a processor is stored outside the processor. If needed for execution, the processor loads the microcode from outside the processor into a microcode storage inside the processor. The microcode is loaded in the form of a microcode patch which consists of the microcode as well as other optional metadata and configuration data. The processor stalls and saves all instruction state prior to loading the microcode. Thus, the processor does not need to store all of the microcode inside the processor. The size of the microcode storage on the processor may be reduced.

    摘要: An apparatus displaying a patient worklist includes at least one processor, a pointing device, a display screen having a viewing area, and memory, and is configured to store patient information, including cautionary information and scheduled medical procedures, in the memory. The apparatus is further configured to display the patient information on the display screen in a worklist of patient listings for individual patients. The displayed patient information includes scheduled medical procedures for each patient and a visual cautionary indication in a consistent position relative to each patient in the worklist for whom cautionary information is stored. The apparatus is also configured to open a preview pane on the display screen entirely within the viewing area of the display screen when the visual cautionary indication is selected by the pointing device. The preview pane contains cautionary details associated with the corresponding patient for the selected visual cautionary indication.
