    摘要: Improvements in the positive temperature dependence of yield strength and in the work hardening rate of tri-nickel aluminide base alloys are achieved. The novel alloy composition has seven alloying ingredients as follows:______________________________________ ConcentrationIngredient in Atomic %______________________________________Ni balanceCo 8-12Al 16-20Si 4-6Nb 0.26-0.30Zr 0.02-0.04B 0.2-0.7______________________________________The novel composition may be prepared by forming a melt of the composition and atomizing the melt with an inert gas to form fine particles with Ll.sub.2 type crystal structure. The powder is densified by heat and pressure to a novel alloy composition having the improvements in positive temperature dependence of yield strength and work hardening rate as noted above.

    摘要: A nickel-based braze composition is described, containing nickel, palladium, and restricted amounts of boron and silicon. The composition can also contain tantalum, titanium, and zirconium, as well as aluminum, chromium, and cobalt. A method for joining two metal components, using the braze composition, is also described. The braze composition can also be used to fill cracks or other cavities in a component, e.g., a gas turbine part formed from a nickel-based superalloy. Articles of manufacture which contain the braze composition are also described.

    摘要: A method for providing improved ductility in a gamma titanium aluminide is taught. The method involves adding inclusions of boron to the titanium aluminide containing chromium, carbon, and niobium and thermomechanically working the casting. Boron additions are made in concentrations between 0.5 and 2 atomic percent. Fine grain equiaxed microstructure is found from solidified melt. Property improvements are achieved by the thermomechanical processing.
