摘要: Methods of applying aluminum coating layers over copper wires are disclosed. A first method may include applying aluminum powder to the surface of a rod, passing the rod through a first set of compression rolls thereby forcing the aluminum powder into a compacted preform around the rod, and heating the rod covered by the preform at 550° C. to 620° C. Further, the heated preform coated rod is passed through a second set of compression rolls thereby obtaining an aluminum coated copper rod. A second method includes disposing a copper rod inside an aluminum tube having an inner layer formed of brazing aluminum alloy, reducing the diameter of the tube's inner surface to match the copper rod, and heating the composite tube-rod such that the inner layer of the brazing alloy fuses to the rod. Another method includes passing the copper rod through a spray of metallic aluminum.

摘要: A method for forming an object having a three-dimensional target shape, that makes use of a build powder, a support powder and a binder. The build powder is more strongly bound by the binder than is the support powder. The build powder and the support powder are dispensed in a sequence of layers of build powder patterned with support powder that collectively form the three-dimensional shape in build powder, and the binder is applied to the deposited build powder, thereby forming the object of build powder and binder. Finally, the formed object is separated from the support powder.

A build plate that receives the object during fabrication includes a coating of material with a low melt temperature, such as a low melt temperature solder. In particular, the material may be an alloy that can be solidified while receiving the object, and then heated into a liquid state to facilitate removal of the object after fabrication is complete at a temperature sufficiently low that the adjacent, fabricated object does not melt or deform.

摘要: Devices, systems, and methods are directed to switching between pneumatically actuated ejection and electrically actuated ejection of liquid metal from a nozzle moving along a controlled three-dimensional pattern to fabricate a three-dimensional object. Electrically actuated ejection can be useful, for example, for delivering discrete droplets in areas of the object requiring a high degree of accuracy. Pneumatic ejection can be useful, for example, for delivering a stream of liquid metal from the nozzle to provide liquid metal rapidly to areas of the object that require less accuracy (e.g., an inner portion of the object). Accordingly, switching between pneumatically actuated ejection and electrically actuated ejection can facilitate accurate and rapid production of parts through additive manufacturing.

摘要: The invention relates to a spray powder with a superferritic iron-based compound for the thermal coating of a substrate, wherein the spray powder includes, apart from impurities, a chemical list from the list of chemical elements consisting of C, Mn, Cr, Mo, Ni, Nb, P, S, Si, Fe, Al, O, and Zr. In accordance with the invention, the spray powder has the following chemical composition: C at a maximum up to 0.7% by weight, Mn at a maximum up to 0.7% by weight; Ni at a maximum up to 0.5% by weight, Nb at a maximum up to 1.2% by weight, Pat a maximum up to 0.1% by weight, S at a maximum up to 0.1% by weight, Si at a maximum up to 0.2% by weight, Cr in the range from 20% to 40% by weight, Mo in the range 2.0% to 6% by weight, and a ceramic component Al2O3/ZrO2 up to a maximum of 50% by weight, with the remainder being Fe, and otherwise a total of a maximum of 0.4% by weight of further chemical components being contained as impurities. The invention furthermore relates to a substrate, in particular to a brake disk, having a superferritic thermal spray layer.
