摘要: An optical head usable also with a WORM-type optical disk device includes a diffracting optical system which is located in the optical path of a light beam and which diffracts the light beam so as to produce at least three diffracted light beams, and three light-receiving elements which receive the reflected light beams of the three diffracted light beams from the surface of an optical disk. The diffracting optical system is arranged so as to establish a positional relationship in which the three or more diffracted light beams do not lie on a single straight line in the cross-sectional distribution thereof. Among the three diffracted light beams, one lying at the foremost or rearmost position in the forward rotating direction of the optical disk is employed for generating a focusing servo signal or for reading or writing data, and the remaining two are employed for generating a tracking servo signal.

摘要: While an output tray is housed in the printer body, a tray support supports the output tray in such a manner that has the output tray lifted off a surface on which the printer is placed. In the process of pulling out the output tray from the printer body, the tray support supports the output tray in such a manner that the rear end portion of the output tray gradually comes near to the surface on which the printer is placed, and guides the output tray so that a rib, which is formed on the front end portion of the output tray, and the rear end portion of the output tray are in contact with the surface on which the printer is placed when the output tray has been completely pulled out. The output tray is supported on the two portions, i.e., on the rib and rear end portion thereof, when it has been completely pulled out. Accordingly, it can be protected from bending due to the weight of paper sheets stacked thereon so as to prevent spillage of the paper sheets from the output tray even when the stacked paper sheets are large in quantity.

摘要: A printer has a paper sheet output tray for receiving a printed paper sheet emitted from a paper sheet outlet of a housing of the printer. The paper sheet output tray is comprised of a pull-out tray that can be freely pulled out, an extension tray that can be freely pulled out from the pull-out tray and a stopper rotatably pivoted by the extension tray at a position shifted from its center. The pull-out tray has a holding portion for holding the stopper so as to be in substantially parallel position when the extension tray is put in. When the extension tray is pulled out from the pull-out tray, holding of the stopper by the holding portion is released, the stopper is rotated by self-weight and an end of the stopper protrudes from the top face of the extension tray. Thus, the stopper prevents bounce-out of the paper sheet.

摘要: An absolute encoder is comprised of a movable member formed thereon with a plurality of slit patterns to define a plurality of tracks (T.sub.1, T.sub.2) which are bit-coded according to a digital code system such as a binary coded quaternary system indicative of absolute addresses, and which are arranged in parallel manner from a higher order to a lower order. A light source irradiates an illuminating light onto the movable member. A pair of photodetector arrays 1, 2 receive the illuminating light through the slit patterns to output detection signals (A.sub.0.sup.+ -A.sub.3.sup.-) for the respective tracks. A processing circuit processes the detection signals to produce bit signals (P.sub.0 -P.sub.3) and to decode the same to read an absolute address of the movable member. This processing circuit has an operation circuit (3-20) for logically processing lower order detection signals (A.sub.0.sup.+, A.sub.0.sup.-) obtained from the lower order track T.sub.1, with higher order detection signals (A.sub.2.sup.+ -A.sub.3.sup.-) obtained from the higher order track T.sub.2 to produce the higher order bit signals P.sub.2, P.sub.3 in synchronization with either of leading and trailing edges of the lower order bit signal P.sub.0. In order to detect a great number of tracks, the illuminating light from the lower order tracks may be received through an expansion optical system, while the illuminating light from the higher order tracks may be received directly by the corresponding photodetector array.
