摘要: An image reproducing apparatus wherein a halftone of an image is reproduced by repeating a picture element pattern composed of a plurality of dots as a unit and each dot display density of which is gradually controlled. The repetition of the same picture element patterns is avoided to improve tone reproducing performance.The image display unit includes a means for determining a disposition of dots composing a specific picture element pattern, i.e., display density of each dot in response to tone density of the original image, a means for comparing the disposition of dots of the specific picture element pattern determined by said means with a dot disposition or dispositions of one or plural surrounding picture element pattern or patterns, and a means for changing the dot disposition of said specific picture element pattern in the case when it is identical with dot dispositions of a predetermined number or more of surrounding picture element patterns.

摘要: In a thermal printing utilizing a heat sensitive printing paper or an ink donor film, sticking of a heat sensitive color developing layer on the printing paper or a substrate film of the ink donor film to a thermal head is prevented by supplying a predetermined amount of electric energy to heat generating elements of the thermal head during time intervals between successive printing heat generations in the heat generating elements. For this purpose, warming pulses generated from a warming pulse generating circuit are applied during the time intervals to the heat generating elements for warming the same.

摘要: A thermal head driving method in which serial picture data to be recorded on one line is inputted into a shift register which produces parallel picture data corresponding to the input series picture data to drive heating elements of a thermal head by the parallel picture data. The method comprises the steps of inputting serial picture data into the shift register and a distinguishment data element is added in front of the serial picture data. A timing determination of when a predetermined amount of picture data to be simultaneously recorded have been set in the shift register is made on the basis of a timing when the distinguishment data element is outputted from an output terminal through which the serial picture data is outputted. The thermal head is driven while stopping input of a serial picture data into the shift register, at the first-mentioned timing.

摘要: A heat transfer recording medium which comprises tissue paper having thereon an ink layer comprised of material fluidizable or sublimatable upon the application of heat. The tissue paper has a thickness of 5 to 25 .mu.m, a density of 0.8 to 1.45 g/cm.sup.3, a smoothness of 200 to 20,000 seconds (determined by the Oken type measurement) and a water content adjusted to 6 to 13 wt % after forming the ink layer thereon. The medium does not generate puckers when employed in a transfer type heat sensitive recording apparatus under high temperature and humidity conditions.

摘要: A heat-sensitive recording apparatus includes a two-stage buffer memory for storing input video signals corresponding to one line, and a counter which determines the proportion of "black" signals in one line as the signals are input thereto. Whether printing of the line is to be carried out in one or plural operations is determined by the determined proportion, and a signal indicative of the number of operations is outputted to a block driver prior to the time when the corresponding video signals are outputted by the second stage of the buffer memory to a shift register.

摘要: A device for recording predetermined magnetization patterns on a magnetic recording medium such as for use in a copying machine. The magnetic medium is first magnetized with a uniform magnetization pattern then passed to a thermal printing head upon which a number of heat generating elements are arranged one-dimensionally on a supporting substrate. The heat generating elements are selectively activated to heat the recording magnetic medium to a temperature greater than the Curie temperature thereof so as to change the direction of the magnetization of the magnetic medium in cooperation with a biasing magnetic field.

摘要: A method of driving a thermal printing head includes expanding the printing time for a line which follows successive non-printed (blank) lines. In this manner, deterioration otherwise caused in the print density can be avoided without employing an auxiliary heater for the thermal head. Instead of expanding the printing time, the applied voltage may be increased to achieve the same result.
