    摘要: A control device includes: a print data acquisition unit configured to acquire print data, which is formed of a plurality of lines and indicates a coloration state of each pixel included in the plurality of lines; a head drive unit configured to supply, to a thermal head formed of a plurality of heating elements each corresponding to the pixel, an electric current for heating the thermal head for each pixel; a motor drive unit configured to supply, to a motor configured to move heat-sensitive paper relative to the thermal head, a drive current for step driving the motor for each line; a speed control unit configured to control, based on the number of colored pixels of a determination subject line among yet-to-be-printed lines of the print data, a relative moving speed of the heat-sensitive paper moved by the motor; and a preheating control unit configured to cause the head drive unit to output, when the determination subject line is a specific line being a line in which the number of colored pixels of the determination subject line exceeds a predetermined value, a preheating current being an electric current for heating the thermal head to such a degree as to prevent coloring of the heat-sensitive paper by a time the specific line is printed.

    摘要: In a thermal head control method for thermally making a stencil master plate from a thermal stencil master plate sheet in the manner of a dot matrix for each line and forming an independent hole for each dot, a physical quantity representing the temperature of the thermal head, such as a time interval Ti for the plate making action by the thermal head for each line and a temperature actually measured from the thermal head, is measured before the plate making action of the next line. The measured temperature is compared with a prescribed value, and if the temperature is lower than the prescribed value, the thermal head is driven (pre-heated) at a power level which is lower than the rated power output and would not affect the thermal stencil master plate sheet. The effective heat emitting property of the thermal head is made uniform without regards to other factors, and a satisfactory perforation is carried out on a thermal stencil master plate sheet at all times.

    摘要: A method for controlling the energization of a thermal printing heating element by a succession of current impulses (I) separated according to a printing raster is described. The current impulses (I) upon exceeding a pre-given energy content effect a printing event and in the case of falling below this energy content effect a preheating. At each raster time point (t1) the printing requirement is ascertained for a predetermined number of yet to follow raster time points (t2, t3) and for raster time points (t2, t1) without printing requirements and lying in advance of a raster time point (t3) with a printing requirement the current impulses (I1, I2) are progressively increased. Through the use of this method a thermal printer with a high printing speed is achieved.

Recording is controlled by sequentially selecting each block during a recording period and driving the heat generating elements in that block according to recording data. Preheating is controlled by simultaneously selecting all blocks during a preheat cycle and driving all of the heat generating elements according to preheat data. The energy used in preheating is insufficient to cause recording.
