摘要: A surgical instrument can comprise a handle, a motor, and a shaft extending from the handle. The handle and/or the shaft can define a longitudinal axis. The surgical instrument can further comprise a fastener cartridge comprising a plurality of fasteners removably stored therein, an anvil configured to deform the fasteners, a closure drive configured to move the anvil toward and away from the fastener cartridge which is rotatable about the longitudinal axis, and a firing drive configured to deploy the fasteners from the fastener cartridge which is rotatable about the longitudinal axis. The surgical instrument can further comprise a transmission comprising a first operating configuration which connects the motor to the closure drive and a second operating configuration which connects the motor to the firing drive.

摘要: A computing system for measuring and monitoring patient biomarkers for detecting or predicting a post-surgical hysterectomy complication may be provided. A post-surgical hysterectomy complication may be predicted or detected by comparing measured/processed patient biomarker data with a corresponding determined threshold value. The comparison of the measured/processed patient biomarker data and the corresponding threshold may be performed in association with a context. The context may be based on at least one of a hysterectomy surgery recovery timeline, at least one situational attribute, or at least one environmental attribute. A notification message associated with a predicted or detected post-surgical hysterectomy complication may be sent (e.g., sent in real time) to a patient device or a healthcare provider's device. The notification message may be supplemented by a severity level message.

摘要: Examples herein may include a computer-implemented method for providing outcome tracking of a plurality of patients, which may include generating a respective expected patient biomarker dataset for each of the plurality of patients, wherein the expected patient biomarker dataset may represent the expected values of a patient biomarker over the duration of the patient's recovery. The computer implementing method may include receiving respective actual patient biomarker data from respective patient sensor systems for each of the plurality of patients. The method may include aggregating the respective expected patient biomarker dataset and the respective actual patient biomarker data for each of the plurality of patients. The method may include determining differences between the respective expected patient biomarker data and the respective actual patient biomarker data. The method may include generating a treatment notification based on the differences.

摘要: A surgical computing system and/or a surgical instrument may determine situational awareness about a surgical procedure based on information provided by one or more sensors and dynamically adapt operation and/or control of surgical instruments and/or communication of information to healthcare professionals based on the determined situational awareness. Situational awareness may include, for example, an importance level (e.g., a stress level or attention) of a health care provider, possession of a controllable surgical instrument by a health care provider, and/or body positioning of a health care provider. Situational awareness may be determined based on in provided by one or more personnel (e.g., wearable) sensing systems, environmental sensing systems, and/or surgical instruments, such as one or more of healthcare provider data (e.g., position, posture, balance, motion, attention, physiologic states), environmental data (e.g., operating room noise level, patient data, healthcare provider data), and/or surgical instrument data (e.g., position, motion, possession, and/or usage).

摘要: A device to output data associated a surgery may include a processor that may be configured to receive, before the surgery, first patient data. The processor may be configured to generate a transform before the surgery. The processor may be configured to receive second patient data during the surgery and to apply the transform based on the received second patient data satisfying a condition of the transform. The transform may be applied to the second patient data to derive third patient data. The third patient data may include the second information and contextual information about the second information. For example, the third patient data may include an alert to a health care professional with a present value of a biomarker and an indication of the magnitude and/or nature of the present value's deviation from a baseline.

摘要: A computing system may monitor a patient's biomarkers pre-surgery and/or in-surgery and predict an adhesion complication. The computing system may obtain measurement data associated with one or more patient biomarkers via one or more sensing systems, predict an adhesion complication based on the measurement data associated with the one or more patient biomarkers, and generate an output based on the predicted adhesion complication. The adhesion complication may be predicted by determining a probability of a chronic inflammation response based on the measurement data associated with the one or more patient biomarkers. The generated output may include a control signal configured to indicate an adjustment to an instrument selection for dissecting capability and/or access capability. The generated output may include a control signal configured to notify a surgeon of a probability of an adhesion complication.

摘要: A robotic surgical tool includes an elongate shaft extendable through a handle providing a drive input, a drive cable extending along a portion of the shaft and having a proximal end anchored to the shaft proximal to the handle and a distal end anchored to the shaft distal to the handle, an actuation system housed within the handle and operatively coupled to the drive input such that actuation of the drive input operates the actuation system, and a toggle mechanism arranged at a proximal end of the shaft and actuatable to close or open opposing jaws of an end effector arranged at a distal end of the shaft. The drive cable is threaded through portions of the actuation system and the toggle mechanism such that operation of the actuation system acts on the drive cable and thereby actuates the toggle mechanism to close or open the opposing jaws.
