The at least one support plate has an opening formed therein for receiving an actuation cable wrapped about the main body. A tension in the actuation cable receivable within the opening is less when the at least one support plate is in the second position than when the at least one support plate is in the first position.

    摘要: A flexible dry sprinkler includes a flexible tube, an inlet attached to an inlet end of the flexible tube, an inlet seal assembly configured to seal an inlet orifice of the inlet, and an inlet release unit configured to release the inlet seal assembly. The inlet release unit includes a frangible member configured to support the inlet seal assembly in the inlet orifice. An outlet is attached to the outlet end of the flexible tube, and includes an outlet orifice sealed by an outlet seal assembly having a thermally responsive element and an outlet seal. A flexible linkage extends between the inlet and the outlet through the flexible tube, and translates, when the outlet seal is released, a predetermined distance to operate the inlet release unit.

One aspect of the invention is directed toward a barrier system that includes a barrier coupled to a spool, and a drive system. The barrier is positioned to be wound onto and off of the spool as the barrier moves between a deployed position and a retracted position by the drive assembly. The system further includes a clutch configured to resist movement of the barrier system unless directed by the drive system, and to release the barrier to allow manual egress when power to the drive system fails. The system further includes a latch configured to retain the barrier in a retracted position and to prevent the barrier from deploying when power fails and the clutch releases.

An outlet is attached to the second end of the flexible tube, and defines an outlet orifice operatively sealed by an outlet seal assembly. A flexible linkage extends from the inlet to the outlet through the flexible tube, and is constructed to operatively release the inlet seal assembly responsive to axial translation of the flexible linkage from a first position to a second position. The flexible linkage is supported by the outlet seal assembly in the first position and wherein the flexible linkage is constructed to axially translate toward the outlet when the outlet seal assembly is released.

    摘要: A device is provided for triggering a fire extinguishing system by a sprinkler, the device being arranged between the pipe for the extinguishing agent and the sprinkler and including a multiple-armed toggle-lever joint acting between a load axis of the triggering element and a sealing element that is arranged at an angle of 80 to 120° thereto. The device has the advantage that dry pipe sprinklers whose glass bulbs can only absorb low mechanical forces can also be arranged for use at pipes that exhibit large entry cross-sections, large volume flows and high pressures as the forces from the pipe that arise have to be absorbed only in part by the sprinkler glass bulb. It is further advantageous that the sealing force of the sealing element can be adjusted by means of an actuator.
