Abstract: The present invention provides for electrical devices and methods for evaluating athletic performance. A shock sensor is attached to an athlete or a suitable target such as a punching bag. When the athlete subjects the shock sensor to a shock with a magnitude which equals or exceeds the shock sensor sensitivity, an electrical effect is generated which is processed by a control means. The control means can be programmed for a delay period which precedes the performance evaluating cycle. The athlete's reaction time and shock magnitude can be measured and displayed. The devices and methods are suitable for evaluating athletic performance even if the athlete does not contact a target or an another object such as in simulated martial arts combat wherein there is no body contact between the athletes.

Abstract: A bag holder adapted to hold a training bag and adapted to be used in a corner with a first wall and a second wall and a floor surface disposed therebetween. The bag holder includes a leg assembly having one portion extending a distance along and engaging the first wall and another portion extending a distance along and engaging the second wall. A bag support is connected to the leg assembly. Abstract: A blocking sled designed for the development and practice of football pass blocking techniques having a base with an elongated arm pivoted thereto. Operatively connected between the arm and the base is a piston arrangement in which the piston rod supports a compressible spring so that movement of the arm towards a 90.degree. angle with respect to the base is resisted. In use, a player generally stands on either side of the arm and strikes with the palms of his hands an impacting surface integral with the arm, thus causing the arm to move about its pivot through a 90.degree. angle with respect to the base.

Abstract: A martial arts training apparatus includes an adjustable length pole to be supported between a ceiling and a floor in a generally vertical orientation. A plurality of rotatable collars are provided on the pole. Arms extend from the collars and are free to rotate in opposite directions around the pole when struck to provide targets for striking and to mimic an opponent's limbs to be blocked or dodged. A static strike target may be provided on the pole. The apparatus can be configured to support a double end speed bag from one of the arms such that the double end speed bag moves in a dynamic unpredictable manner when struck. A support arm may be provided to connect the top arm to a lower collar to provide additional support of the double end speed bag.
