摘要: A cutting head rotatable about a central axis, comprising a tip portion and an intermediate portion. The tip portion has an axially forwardmost tip point contained in the central axis and three axially forward facing front surfaces forming three chisel edges extending axially rearwardly away from the tip point, each front surface having a radially extending cutting edge comprising a secondary cutting-edge portion extending radially outwardly from one of the chisel edges, and a primary cutting-edge portion extending radially outwardly therefrom. Each primary cutting-edge portion is contained in an imaginary annular ring surface having an annular ring width spanning at least radially inner and outer end points thereof. In a front-end view of the cutting head, each primary cutting-edge portion is concave, and radial planes intersect the imaginary annular surface to form imaginary rectilinear lines, each having a length equal to the annular ring width.

摘要: A method for drilling through an assembly forming a stack of at least two different materials uses a drill bit having at least a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge inclined in an axial plane of the drill bit so that the end of the drill bit has a projecting conical shape. The first cutting edge is configured to drill a first material. The second cutting edge is made differently from the first cutting edge, to drill a second material. A first rotational drive axis of the drill bit is laterally offset during the drilling by an offset distance D relative to the axis of the drill bit in a direction opposite the first cutting edge when the drill bit is drilling through the first material, and alternately, in a direction opposite the second cutting edge when the drill bit is drilling through the second material.

摘要: A throw-away rotating tool improves workability of detaching a throw-away tip and prevents from damaging a body. In the throw-away tool, a convex connection 23 for the throw-away tip 20 has protrusions 25, each of the protrusion includes a sliding contact portion 25a detachably fitted into the inner peripheral groove recessed in the inner peripheral wall of a body. The protrusion 25 has a first tilt portion 25b continuous to the sliding contact portion 25a. In detaching the throw-away tip 20 from the body, the first tilt portion 25b rotates ahead of the sliding contact portion 25a, and a standing portion is elastically deformed due to a wedge effect of the first tilt portion 25b. As a result, the protrusion 25 can be gently removed from the inner peripheral groove 13b.

摘要: A drill achieves a long tool life while improving a property for discharging chips. The drill includes: a columnar body which is rotated about an axis; a plurality of cutting edges each being formed at a tip end portion of the body; and a plurality of thinning edges each being formed in conjunction with the cutting edge nearer the axis by providing thinnings at the tip end portion of the body. At least one of the plurality of thinning edges is provided with a concave portion that is formed by cutting the thinning edge to be recessed in a semicircular shape toward the rear side in the rotational direction, and a center of the semicircular-shaped concave portion is provided on a line extended from the tip end portion of the thinning edge when viewed from a tip end direction of the body.

Each of the cutting portions 2 includes a block and at least three cutting blades. A first cutting blade 2a may be located radially inward relative to the second and third cutting blades 2b and 2c and the second cutting blade 2c is located between the first and third cutting blades in a radial direction, and the cutting blades deviate rearward in a rotational direction. A wall 3b of the discharge groove 3 corresponds to a cutting surface 2k of the third cutting blade, and a gallet 4 is provided adjacent each cutting portion, the gallet formed by cutting an outer peripheral surface of a tip end portion.
