    摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus which enables thread to be wound onto the motor driven storage drum of a thread storage and feeding device for a thread processing machine strictly continuously and uniformly with the aim of ensuring that the thread as wound off the thread supply bobbin is wound onto the storage drum in such a way that variations in the tension of the thread as pulled off the storage drum are eliminated. This is achieved by controlling the number of revolutions of the motor in response to a control signal which is derived from the thread intermediate supply on the drum and the actual thread consumption, i.e., the average speed of the thread leaving the drum.

    摘要: A motorized rotary drum supported on a motor housing bears a plurality of yarn loops wound thereon, such loops being adapted to be unwound upon request from a downstream machine. A yarn-unwinding sensor comprises light-emitting elements and light-receiving elements both of which are integral with the motor housing. Light-guiding elements which are integral with the drum guide the light from the light-emitting elements to a window which is defined on the rotary drum in a position such that it is repeatedly engaged by the yarn during its rotary unwinding motion, and vice versa. A reflecting surface reflects the light coming out of the window back towards the window. Light-deviating elements which are integral with the motor housing deviate the light coming back from the window towards the light-receiving elements. The unwinding of a yarn loop from the drum is determined on the basis of the variation of light resulting from the yarn transiting on the window.

The thread signals are generated by sensors which scan a scanning zone on the storage surface and formed on the basis of a scanning property of the thread windings when the thread supply is present in the scanning zone. The thread storage and feed device is provided with first and second circumferential sections on the storage surface differing from one another with respect to their scanning properties, and a plurality of sensors. The sensors are spaced approximately in the circumferential direction of the storage body in such a way that at least a first circumferential section of the storage surface can be scanned by one sensor and, simultaneously, a second circumferential section of the storage surface can be scanned by at least one additional sensor.

Energy emitting members within the unit ensure energy supply to the sensor elements and the circuits belong thereto. When using optical emitting elements, these are included in an arrangement which supplements or alternatively substantially reduces the influence of vibrations in the unit on the sensing or analyzing result.
