摘要： The invention is a laminated wood product having superior appearance and dimensional stability. It has a core member of common lumber. This core member has been relieved in one of a number of ways to reduce or eliminate warping induced by internal stresses. Preferably this is accomplished by making kerfs in the edges or in the faces which extend almost completely through the product. Sheets of patched or otherwise relatively defect-free veneer are then laminated to each face of the core member. These prevent telegraphing of core defects and kerfs. A piece of clear or otherwise acceptable appearance grade lumber is then laminated to each edge of the product. Ultimately, appearance grade veneer is laminated to each face to create an assembly giving the appearance and utility of clear, solid sawn wood.

摘要： A method of making a panel-style door which includes forming elongate channels in a core panel, with each channel extending in a rectangular course and encompassing a rectangular region. A veneer overlay is applied to cover these rectangular regions and the surfaces bottoming the channels which encompass the rectangular regions. Inlay strips are placed in the channels to cover margins of the veneer overlay so applied. Another veneer overlay is applied to cover remaining portions of the core panel and margins of the inlay strips.

摘要： A natural wood surface treatment for an insulated door, in a preferred embodiment, a periphery of wood boards surrounding a grouping of raised panel inserts separated by center rails so that the assembled boards, inserts and center rails define a front panel for the door. The peripheral boards have grooves in the interior edges for receiving the center rails and raised panel inserts. To secure the front panel to the door, the peripheral boards have exterior grooves for slidably receiving inwardly directed flanges on the door side walls and bottom wall. A channel-shaped top cap secures the front panel along the top of the door.In another embodiment, openings are cut into the metal or nonwood front panel of a conventional insulated door for receiving assemblies of one or more raised panel inserts with natural wood moulding strips around them.

摘要： A raised panel-style door and method of making same are described. The structure includes a solid core having a planar veneer support surface regularly interrupted by channels extending in a rectangular course. The channels are inlaid with picture frames formed of decorative wood strips having marginal edges in the plane of the veneer support surface and being recessed therebetween. When overlaid with veneer, surface regions outside the picture frames are made to look like stiles and rails, while those inside are made to look like panels. The door may also have an internal fire-retardant layer.

摘要： A panel door having door frame members extending vertically and horizontally therein defining rectangular spaces in which panels are mounted. A panel is mounted in the door with its edge margins seating within channels extending along door frame members surrounding the panel. Fire endurance in the panel is achieved by the inclusion of fire-resistant strips having one set of margins fitted within grooves indented inwardly from the panel's edge margins. The opposite set of margins of the strips are fitted within grooves provided in the bases of the channels.
