Abstract:
An electrical generation system for a doorway including a door includes a lock mechanism movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position to allow the door to move between a closed position and an open position and a cam coupled to the door. A piezo-electric generator is coupled to the cam. The cam is rotatable with respect to the piezo-electric generator. The piezo-electric generator is operable to produce an electrical current in response to rotation of the cam with respect to the piezo-electric generator, and the electrical current has a frequency that is greater than the number of revolutions made by the cam with respect to the piezo-electric generator.
Abstract:
An apparatus for configuring a gasket material to function with a plurality differently configured track systems, the system including a housing, an opening in the housing through which a gasket material is placed and is moved through, a receiving area through a side of the housing, a cutting device configured with a blade to extend through the receiving area and into the opening, and a slideable cam to define a reach of the blade within the opening.
Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for opening and closing a window by slidably moving a movable window sash or door (hereinafter collectively called a ‘movable window sash’) with respect to a fixed window sash or door (hereinafter collectively called a ‘fixed window sash’). The apparatus is designed such that the movable window sash cannot only slide along a rail mounted within a blank frame but also be separated from a roller to move back and forth from any position on a rail toward the blank frame or the fixed window sash in a perpendicular direction with respect to a length direction of the rail, thus allowing the entire seal member interposed between either the blank frame or the fixed window sash and the movable window sash to be uniformly pressed in the perpendicular direction. Thus, excellent soundproofing, air tightness (windproofing), water tightness, insulation performance, and wind pressure resistance can be provided. Furthermore, the sliding window system has a simplified opening/closing structure and a minimum number of components, and low manufacturing cost.
Abstract:
Weather stripping for use in sealing an interface between selected vehicle portions is made using a thermoplastic material such as TPV with a supercritical fluid introduced during the manufacturing process to provide a microcellular structure. The microcellular structure of one example implementation of this invention includes a cell density in a range from about 109 to about 1015 per cubic centimeter. Average cell sizes preferably are less than 2 microns. A preferred range in one example is between about 0.1 micron and about 1.0 micron. The inventive design provides superior performance with cost savings compared to rubber weather stripping.
Abstract:
A combined sealing system for connecting a panel to a frame includes a first sealing system and a second sealing system. The first sealing system connects a first surface of the panel to a first surface of the frame, and the first sealing system has a first movable member movable along a first direction. The second sealing system connects a second surface of the panel to a second surface of the frame, and the second sealing system has a second movable member movable along a second direction. The combined sealing system has an unlocked configuration and a locked configuration. In the unlocked configuration, the panel is movable relative to the frame along a third direction. The first and second directions not parallel to the third direction.
Abstract:
A weather strip assembly and application of same are provided. The weather strip assembly and application comprises a first weather strip operably attached to a first surface, and a second weather strip operably attached to a second surface adjacent the first surface, wherein the second weather strip at least partially overlaps the first weather strip, forming a double seal between adjacent first and second surfaces. The first and/or second weather strip may be applied and secured to the respective surface by adhesive. Further, the weather strip may comprise a cloth fabric.
Abstract:
A sealing device for a door, and in particular for a garage door, for sealing the door and frame to facilitate the exclusion of elements, such as, for example, draughts, wind, rain, snow, insects, and the like, with a first part or base provided for mounting to a supporting surface, and a second part constructed to attach to the first part, the second part carrying a sealing element.
Abstract:
A replaceable seal for water-tight and fire-resistant sliding doors, in particular for use on board ships and rigs, is roughly trapezoidal in shape having two opposite short sides, a long side therebetween, and a side of intermediate length opposite the long side. The intermediate length side of the seal is intended to lie against one of the arms of a Y-shaped support; one of the short sides of the seal is intended to lie against the upright of the Y-shaped support; the long side of the seat is intended to lie against a fastening device, preferably of a washer held with a bolt and nut; and the second short side forms the sealing surface of the seal for sealing against a door frame.
Abstract:
A double-sided self-adhesive reinforced foam tape comprising a release liner having upper and lower surfaces which are release surfaces, a first layer of pressure sensitive adhesive applied to the upper release surface, a layer of flexible polymeric film, preferably polyester film, applied to the first pressure sensitive adhesive layer, a layer of flexible foam, preferably closed cell PVC flexible foam, thermally bonded to the flexible polymeric film layer, and a second layer of pressure sensitive adhesive applied to the flexible foam layer. A length of material for use as a double-sided tape is provided, along with a method of making the length of material. An alternative embodiment, suitable for die-cutting, including a second release liner applied to the second pressure sensitive adhesive layer is provided. The tape may be used in automobiles and other applications.
Abstract:
A self-adhesive reinforced foam gasket comprising a release liner having an upper surface which is a release surface, a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive applied to the release surface, a layer of flexible polymeric film, preferably polyester film, applied to the pressure sensitive adhesive layer, and a layer of flexible foam, preferably closed cell PVC flexible foam, thermally bonded to the flexible polymeric film layer. A length of material for die-cutting the gasket therefrom is provided, along with a method of making the length of material. The gasket may be used in automobiles and other applications.
