    摘要: This invention is related to an apparatus for detecting an abnormal condition and limit of use of a forced lubricating plain bearing which supports a rotary shaft. An oiling pressure bore is formed in the plain bearing, and a pressure detector is connected to this oiling pressure bore. The oiling pressure bore is communicated with a lubricating oil feed bore via a throttle element. A closed portion of the oiling pressure bore is melted and broken by the heat generated when seizure occurs on the plain bearing, to cause a decrease in the oil pressure. This decrease in the oil pressure is detected to ascertain that the plain bearing is in an abnormal condition or reaches a limit of use.

    摘要: A self-pressurizing and self-compensating hydrostatic bearing includes a thin bushing having fluid pockets and supply channels provided therein, the bushing being mounted within a bearing support housing. An annular space or chamber is maintained between the two components in order to accommodate radial deformation of the bushing under the influence of an increased pressure prevailing within the pockets of the bushing to facilitate fluid circulation as a result of an increase in rotational speed of a spindle supported by means of the bearing. The gap between the lands of the bushing, defining the pockets and channels, and the shaft or spindle, increases with an increasing speed of rotation of the shaft or spindle, such thereby essentially nullifying or preventing a rise in temperature of the fluid.

A method of forming a high-load-capacity hydrostatic bearing having two adjoining bearing surfaces 11, 14 (Fig. 1) and means for supplying fluid between them comprises forming a recess or concavity 15 in the surface 14 and positioning means such as an annulus 20 for retarding the flow of fluid escaping between the surfaces 11, 14 and the recess 15, the annulus 20 being urged out of the recess 15 towards the surface 11. In a modification (Fig. 2) means, e.g. a compression spring 32 between protuberances 33 and 31, in a recess 15a and on annulus cross-bars 30, respectively, urges the annulus 20a from the recess. In Fig. 1 the surface 14 is that of a rotatable shaft 13 and is spaced from the surface 11 of a non-rotatable element 10 through which a conduit 12 supplies fluid to the space to do so. An annulus 20 in the recess 15 retards the flow of fluid therefrom, the force of gravity acting to tend to move the annulus 20 therefrom. The bearing surface with the recess is in the end of a rotatable shaft. The annulus 20 or 20a and the two bearing surfaces 14, 11 or 14a, 11a form first and second fluid-exhausting passages 22, 24, the entrance of each passage being greater than the exit thereof. The recess and annulus may be of any desired geometric shape.
