摘要: A seal assembly for sealing between a first machine part and a second machine part. The first machine part has a housing groove with a side wall. The seal assembly includes a compression ring for being placed within the housing groove and a seal element for being placed within the housing groove. The seal element is energized by the compression ring and separates the compression ring from the side wall of the housing groove and the second machine part. The seal element has a seal bottom portion with a seal apex for contacting the second machine part, and a seal back portion for contacting the side wall of the housing groove. In a first position of the seal element the seal back portion extends axially inwardly from the side wall of the housing groove.

摘要: A pipe pulling technique where an adaptor is attached to the end of the pipe prior to the pipe being pulled underground, for example through a drilled hole. Attaching the adaptor to the pipe end prior to the pipe being pulled underground is faster and reduces danger to workers compared to the conventional process of attaching the adaptor to the end of the pipe after the pipe has been pulled underground.

摘要: A spiral pipe 9 is formed by joining edges 93, 94 of adjacent turns of a strip member 90 while helically winding the strip member 90 using a pipe-making apparatus 3. A propulsive reaction force for moving in a winding direction of the strip member 90 is imparted to a following strip portion 92 or a preceding spiral pipe portion 91 of the strip member 90 by a propulsive reaction force imparting portion 10 of the pipe-making apparatus 3. The following strip portion 92 follows a preceding spiral pipe portion 91 that has already been made into a pipe. A resisting force in a direction opposite to the propulsive reaction force is imparted to the strip member 90 along the winding direction by a friction between a resisting force imparting portion 30 and the strip member 90 generated while the strip member 90 is moved forward. In this arrangement, a diameter limiting frame can be omitted, and thereby, the pipe-making apparatus 3 can be downsized.

摘要: A high pressure pipe of high density polyethylene material includes an internal lining (3), an intermediate reinforcement layer (2) and an outer cover layer (1). The high density polyethylene material of the internal lining (3) is filled with a filling material (5). As a result, the mixture of high density polyethylene and filling material provides resistance against higher temperatures, allowing the pipe to be able to transport fluids at elevated temperatures.
