Abstract: A modular box assembly includes a box with side panels defining a box cavity, a first thermal liner positioned within the box cavity, the first thermal liner including a first insulation batt disposed between sheets, the first thermal liner defining three first liner panels, at least one box side panel being covered by a first liner panel, and a second thermal liner positioned within the box cavity, the second thermal liner including a second insulation batt disposed between sheets, the second thermal liner defining three second liner panels. At least one other of the side box panels is covered by a second liner panel. The bottom box panel is covered by either a first liner panel not covering any side box panel or a second liner panel not covering any side box panel. Each insulation batt can be formed from a mixture of thermoplastic binder fibers and reinforcement fibers.

Abstract: A thermal container insulated with phase change material comprising a plurality of panels to form a body with a plurality of sides, a bottom and a lid, wherein each panel further comprises: a lining board, a phase change cold storage board, an insulation board; and a skin board. The thermal container can maximize its storage capacity without compromising any volume for ice. It can maintain an accurate temperature range suitable for transportation. The container is reinforced at various locations to improve stability and structural integrity.

Abstract: A refrigerator appliance includes a cabinet defining a fresh food chamber, and a fresh food door rotatably hinged to the cabinet for accessing the fresh food chamber. The fresh food door includes an inner surface, an outer surface and a side surface extending between the inner surface and the outer surface. The fresh food door is rotatable between an open position and a closed position. The refrigerator appliance further includes a passive storage compartment defined within the fresh food door, and a compartment door coupled to one of the inner surface or the outer surface for accessing the storage compartment. The compartment door is movable between an open position and a closed position. The passive storage compartment maintains a temperature greater than a fresh food chamber temperature and less than an ambient temperature when the fresh food door and compartment door are closed and the refrigerator appliance is operational.

Abstract: A storage bin for a refrigerator appliance is provided. The storage bin defines a storage compartment for receiving food articles and may be removably received within a chilled chamber of the refrigerator appliance. The storage bin may further include a carrying handle, such that it is easily portable outside the refrigerator appliance. The storage bin may have cold pack material and/or insulating material in its walls such that the storage compartment remains cool for a period of time after the storage bin is removed from the refrigerator appliance. Due to the fact that the storage bin is chilled and easily portable, it is ideal for grocery shopping, for taking on a picnic, or for any other use involving travel with food items that must remain cool during transport.
