    摘要： Spring loaded coiled steel or like flexible measuring tape is provided with a pushbutton braking device which includes an elongate brake member movable along one wall of the tape housing to bear on the tape so as to retain it in an extended condition, and an actuating member incorporating a pushbutton slideable along the upper wall of the housing and linked to the brake member by interengaging peg and slot or like camming formations for positive movement of the brake member in a rectilinear path. The device has few moving parts and is simple to assemble and operate. The housing and both said members may be formed from plastics materials.

    摘要： Disclosed herein is a tape measuring device comprising a measuring tape coiled within a casing, and having a spring actuated return device for recoiling the tape when it has been withdrawn from the casing. A brake device is spring loaded within the casing to counter balance the return force so that the measuring tape will remain withdrawn until the brake is released to permit the return device to re-coil the tape. The brake device includes a U-shaped member having fingers projecting inwardly in a face-to-face manner from the free ends of the U-shaped member for pressing the tape against an internal wall of the casing under the force of a coil spring disposed between the casing and inner face of the bight portion of the U-shaped member. The tape measuring device also comprises a marking mechanism, disposed within the casing at the ends thereof opposite the end at which the tape is withdrawn, and including a marking element which is spring biased upwardly, but which may be depressed to place a mark on the surface being measured. The indicia on the tape are read through a window in the top of the casing, and the reading is arranged to correspond exactly with the distance between the marking element and the free end of the tape.

The elongated blade is arranged to be wound on the reel and to be extendable through an opening in the housing. The end hook member is formed of sheet metal to include a mounting portion and a hook portion bent at a generally right angle from an end of the mounting portion. The end hook member includes a pair of generally upwardly extending side edges, a generally laterally extending lower edge, and recessed edge portions disposed at corner portions at which the upwardly extending side edges and the laterally extending lower edge intersect.

    摘要： A measuring tape device with automatic locking mechanism comprises of a casing, a bobbin that is set within the casing with a spring, a coilable tape that is contained in the casing. One end of the tape is connected to the spring and is wound around the bobbin, while the other end is extended outside through an aperture that is formed at the lower end to of casing, and this other end is connected to a hook member. The device also comprises of a stopper, it consists of an end that is positioned on the linear portion of tape, and an actuator that is connected to the end portion by a linkage part. The actuator is extruded outside and is settled at the surface of the casing. The device includes a hinge joint for fixating the stopper inside the casing and for allowing the stopper to rotate, and an elastic member placed between the casing and the linkage portion. The measuring tape device of present invention will lock the tape in place after the tape is extracted out from the casing, the locking mechanism of the tape is considered effective, and it has relatively low production cost, hence it is beneficial for mass production.
