    摘要: The prevented invention provides a method to visualize complicated metro maps in a limited displaying area, in which the route to the passenger's destination is highlighted. In order to achieve high readability, it sets 1) the distance between neighboring stations to be equal, 2) the transportation lines to lie in octilinear directions, 3) the angles of incident edges at each station to be maximized, and 4) the station positions to be inside the displaying area. It also labels the names of stations that passenger will pass by to make the route navigation easy and intuitive.

    摘要: A reframing application crops a sub-part of a video source, based on its content. The reframing application involves a visual attention model that produces a saliency map, and a dedicated reframing algorithm that extrapolates a cropping window based on that saliency map. After cropping, only the reframed portion of each video image remains visible. A method for processing images of a video sequence comprises steps of determining parameters of the video sequence, parameters of a previously decoded subsequence of the video sequence and user settings, determining a portion to be cropped according to the determined parameters, and cropping in a reframing step the determined portion for being displayed. An advantage of the invention is that an advanced automatic solution is provided for tuning automatically the reframing parameters, based on the content of a video.

    摘要: In some instances, an image may have dimensions that do not correspond to a slot to display the image. For example, an image content item may have dimensions that do not correspond to a content item slot. The image may be resized using seam carving to add or remove pixels of the image. A saliency map for the image may be used having saliency scores for each pixel of the image. Evaluation metrics may be used before, during, and after, seam carving to determine whether salient content is affected by the seam carving. In some instances, a seam cost threshold value may be used for adaptive step size during the seam carving. The resized image may then be outputted, such as for an image content item to be served with a resource.

A video format converter may be used to process a low-resolution video signal from a media providing device before the video is displayed. The video format converter may detect the true resolution of the video and deinterlace the video signal accordingly. For low-resolution videos that are also low in quality, the video format converter may reduce compression artifacts and apply techniques to enhance the appearance of the video.
