The contact cavity includes a cavity body with a base plate provided at a longitudinal end of the cavity body and a lock receiving space provided on an opposite surface of the base plate. The contact receiving passageway extends through the cavity body and into an aperture of the base plate. The contact lock is fittable with the lock receiving space and includes a contact securing element and a lug provided on a side of the contact lock.

A rubber plug (40) is fit in the housing (20) and a rear holder (50) is mounted behind the rubber plug (40). The rear holder (50) is set in a partially locked state while inserting the terminal fittings (12) and is set in a fully locked state after the terminal fittings (12) are accommodated completely. A lever (80) is assembled with the housing (20) and is moved to assist a connection to a mating connector (90). Movement limiting portions (70) are retracted from a movable range of the lever (80) to permit movement of the lever (80) when the rear holder (50) is in the fully locked state, but are in the movable range of the lever (80) to limit movement of the lever (80) when the rear holder (50) is in the partially locked state.

    摘要: The present invention provides an electrical connector including a housing defining a receptacle extending to an opening and a cavity block assembly retained in the receptacle. The cavity block assembly includes a base seated in the receptacle and a terminal inserter attached to the base and moveable in a terminal insertion direction from a pre-staged inserter position to a final inserter position. In an exemplary embodiment, a plurality of terminal passages extend in parallel through the base and terminal inserter. When the terminal inserter is in the pre-staged position, terminals may be inserted into the passages to a range of partially inserted positions with respect to the housing or to fully inserted positions. Preferably after all of the terminals are inserted, an urging force is applied to the terminal inserter causing it to move from the pre-staged position to the final position. Simultaneously, the terminal inserter biases any terminal that is located in the range of partially inserted positions to a fully inserted position.

A sum of the thicknesses of auxiliary front walls (33) and the accommodating front wall (13) exceeds the thickness of main front walls (17). Thus, the auxiliary terminal fittings (31) are backward from the main-body terminal fittings (15) by this thickness difference and a peak connecting force is reduced.

    摘要: A sealed electrical connector includes a housing having a mating end and a wire receiving end. The wire receiving end is configured to receive a terminal joined to a wire. A cover is provided on the wire receiving end of the housing. The cover includes a terminal position assurance (TPA) element that extends from the cover through the wire receiving end and into the housing. The TPA engages the housing to prevent movement of the cover to a closed position until the terminal is fully loaded through the wire receiving end of the housing. The connector also includes a seal held between the housing and cover to seal the terminal receiving end when the cover is in the closed position. The connector further includes a terminal retention device to retain a terminal contact when the contact is fully loaded in the connector.

    摘要: In a rear holder-attached connector (1), a relatively-thick protective rib (10) with a width (B) projects outwardly from opposite sides of a housing (2), and is disposed between upper and lower terminal receiving chambers (3). This width (B) is larger than a width of rear holders (20a, 20b), and this rib (10) protects the rear holders (20a, 20b) so that these rear holders, provisionally retained on the housing (2) within a metal-mold assembly, will not be discharged from the metal-mold assembly to drop, and will not be disengaged from the housing even upon contact with another housing. The provision of the protective rib (10) also serves to provide a good flow of a resin poured from the rear side of the housing (2) during the molding operation, and therefore thin partition walls, forming the terminal receiving chambers (3), can be positively molded, thereby enhancing the yield of the molded housings.

    摘要: A rear holder 4 is inserted into a housing 3 from a rear end surface 24 at a provisional locking position in which the rear holder 4 is inserted into the housing 3 halfway and an insertion of connecting terminals is allowed, as well as at a sufficiently inserted complete locking position at which the inserted connecting terminals are locked. Within the housing 3, there are formed two rows of terminal accommodating holes 28 each accommodating respective connecting terminals. The rear holder 4 is formed in a substantially plate-like shape and includes a main body 41 which is inserted into slits 29 of the housing 3 and locking arms 45 which are inserted into respective terminal accommodating holes 28. A width of a locking arm 45 is slightly smaller than that of a terminal accommodating hole 28. Windows 37 are formed in the outer wall 21 of the housing 3 such that the terminal accommodating holes 28 are communicated with external through the windows 37. Through these windows 37, locking condition between the connecting terminals 2 and the locking arms 45 can be released and an electrical conduction test of the connecting terminals 2 can be performed.

A plug hold-down plate (40) for holding down the rubber plug (30) is disposed on a rear surface of the rubber plug (30). A holder (50) can be held at a temporary locking position apart from a rear surface of the plug hold-down plate (40) and a main locking position at which the holder (50) contacts the rear surface of the plug hold-down plate (40). If a mounted male terminal fitting (2) is pulled out, with the holder (50) held at the temporary locking position, the plug hold-down plate (40) holds down the rubber plug (30). Thus the rubber plug (30) can be prevented from moving rearward.
