Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting an interferer having a periodic time of recurrence and a periodic spectral frequency range, identifying a spectral segment of a plurality of spectral segments of a wideband radio system having a time of occurrence and an operating frequency range that overlaps with the periodic time of recurrence and the periodic spectral frequency range of the interferer, identifying a communication device utilizing the spectral segment for transmitting data in accordance with a segment schedule assigned to the communication device, and generating an updated segment schedule by modifying the segment schedule of the communication device to avoid utilizing an affected portion of the spectral segment during the periodic time of recurrence and the periodic spectral frequency range of the interferer. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may perform, for example, a method that determines at least one threshold for detecting signal interference in a first plurality of segments occurring in a first radio frequency spectrum of a first wireless communication system, detecting a pattern of recurrence over time of signal interference in a segment of the first plurality of resource blocks according to the at least one threshold, and performing one or more mitigation steps to mitigate the signal interference without filtering the signal interference where the one or more mitigation steps include at least one of transmitting signals out of phase from the signal interference, adjusting transmit power, increasing power in a resource block of a long term evolution communication session, performing beam steering, or changing time parameters for the resource block without changing to a new resource block. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention is designed to reduce the decrease of spectral efficiency even when repetitious transmission is applied to communication by user terminals, in which the band to use is limited to a partial narrow band in a system band. According to one aspect of the present invention, a user terminal, in which the band to use is limited to partial narrow bands in a system band, has a receiving section that receives information related to spreading codes, a generation section that generates uplink signals, and a transmission section that repeats transmitting uplink signals in a plurality of subframes, and the generation section applies a predetermined spreading code to an uplink signal that is transmitted in part or all of the plurality of subframes, based on the information related to spreading codes.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining when a communication device will transmit signals comprising transmission segments in a communication link. Signal interference is detected in a portion of transmission segments according to the determining when the communication device will transmit the signals including the transmission segments and at least one threshold for detecting interference. Aspects of the disclosure further include detecting that a number of signal interferers in the portion of the transmission segments exceeds a number of filters of a group of filters, and prioritizing use of the group of filters to filter signal interference in the portion of the transmission segments for suppressing at least a portion of the signal interference detected.

Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that includes adjusting a filter in electrical communication between an input terminal and a demodulator. The filter is applied to an information bearing signal, e.g., to mitigate interference, received at the input terminal, resulting in a filtered signal. An error signal is received, indicative of errors detected within information obtained by demodulation of a modulated carrier of the filtered signal. A modified filter state is determined in response to the error signal and the filter is adjusted according to the modified filter state, e.g., to improve mitigation of the interference. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A system includes a method for detecting a signal interference in a communication signal of a wireless communication system. An identified source of the signal interference is determined according to an interference profile of a plurality of interference profiles associated with an interference profile library having information that approximates characteristics of the signal interference. The signal interference of the communication signal is mitigated according to an interference parameter associated with the identified source by filtering the communication signal according to the interference parameter.

Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that includes adjusting a filter in electrical communication between an input terminal and a demodulator. The filter is applied to an information bearing signal, e.g., to mitigate interference, received at the input terminal, resulting in a filtered signal.
