An automatic system is provided for alerting ground personnel as to the existence of a threat to commercial aircraft in which the threat is determined by a classified system, but in which the local area network employed by the military missile warning is isolated from an unclassified local network coupled to the aircraft's transponder which transmits the threat existence and status to ground personnel. The barrier to transmitting classified information involves both filtering between the classified LAN and unclassified LAN, the use of only discrete signaling lines in the classified LAN isolated by opto-electronics to provide physical separation between the two local area networks, and communications formatting which precludes the transmission of classified information across the barrier between the classified local area network and the unclassified local area network.

The method includes receiving transmissions from the actuator utilizing a plurality of multiple channel receiving devices, determining a direction to the actuator based on the signals received, and retrieving position, orientation, and time information for the plurality of multiple channel receiving devices relating to each transmission received from the actuator. Also included in the method is triangulating the position of the actuator based on the position, orientation, time, and determined direction to the actuator for the plurality of multiple channel receiving devices. Systems that perform the above method are also described.

The radio quasi-circulator-jammer system includes includes a quasi-circulator having a transformer, a matched electrical load having an electrical impedance substantially matched to the antenna electrical impedance and three radio signal splitters adapted to split incoming radio power signals into two substantially equal outgoing radio power signals. The three radio signal splitters and said transformer are arranged produce: a circulation within the quasi-circulator of about one-half of output power of the jammer transmitter and the communication transmitter in a first direction and a circulation of about one-half of said output power of the jammer transmitter and the communication transmitter in a second direction opposite said first direction and a circulation within said quasi-circulator of about one-half of input power received by said antenna in said first direction and a circulation of one-half of said input power received by said antenna said second direction; with the transformer positioned within said quasi-circulator so that substantially all output power of the two transmitters that is not otherwise transmitted or dissipated is cancelled in said transformer.

The present invention is to a method and system for providing protection from an EMS-targeted weapon by providing an appropriate spoofed EMS signal to cause an EMS-targeted weapon to determine an apparent object distance sufficiently close to the EMS-based targeting threat to nullify the weapon. In a first embodiment, the EMS-based targeting threat uses reflected EMS emissions, such as RADAR, to target the object the apparent object distance nullifies the weapon by falling within a weapon-safety lockout distance determined by a fire control system of the targeting threat. In another embodiment, the EMS-based targeting threat uses EMS signals from an external source, such as GPS, to target a position of the object and the apparent object distance nullifies the weapon by causing premature detonation at a safe standoff distance from said object.
