    摘要: An information processing apparatus (MFP) performs communication control for receiving an advertisement (ADV) packet transmitted from a mobile terminal while regularly transmitting an ADV packet that includes service information regarding a service provided by the information processing apparatus, in conformity with the BLE standard. In this state, every time the MFP detects an ADV packet that designates the information processing apparatus as a communication partner in BLE communication, the MFP performs communication control for transmitting a connection request to the mobile terminal that is the transmission source of the ADV packet as a response to the detected ADV packet. The MFP thus serves as a master to establish a BLE connection with each mobile terminal.

    摘要: A method includes capturing plural frames of video data using a mobile device. The frames are analyzed to determine whether any depict an object exhibiting one or more defining characteristics, and if so, whether those frame(s) depicting the object also satisfy one or more predetermined quality control criteria.     摘要: There is provided an electronic device capable of connecting to an external device and outputting image data recorded in an internal or external recording medium though an internal or external sending unit to the external device. The electronic device includes an operation unit operable to receive an operation made by a user, and a controller operable to control sending the image data. The controller has a first communication mode which controls the sending unit so as to send image data selected by the operation unit, and a second communication mode which controls the sending unit so as to send image data requested from the external device, and the controller prohibits switching from the second communication mode to the first communication mode even when an operation to switch from the second communication mode to the first communication mode is performed on the operation unit in the second communication mode.

    摘要: In a conventional system, an eventing method and status inquiry method based on one-to-one communication are not suitable for notifying many unspecified network-connected hosts of the status of an apparatus in accordance with the WSD and UPnP protocols. A multicast packet capable of notifying many unspecified apparatuses of the status using one packet cannot transmit statuses other than connection and disconnection of an apparatus. To solve these problems, when the status of an apparatus changes, an identifier which is contained in a multicast packet and indicates the apparatus itself is sent after being replaced in accordance with the apparatus status without changing a format defined by a standard protocol. Upon receiving the packet, an apparatus determines, from the identifier contained in the multicast packet, whether to acquire information of the apparatus.
