Abstract:
An optical scanner equipped with plug-in calibration film, which the optical scanner provides light incident upon a transmission-typed document and catches the image signals of the transmission-typed document by an optical chassis. The optical scanner equipped with plug-in calibration film includes a scanning zone and at least one attachment. The scanning zone is capable of providing for placing the transmission-typed document. The attachment is capable of providing a calibration film for enabling the optical chassis to retrieve the image signals so as to improve the image brightness.
Abstract:
A movable calibration device for a sheet-fed scanner includes a calibration sheet and a cam. A scanning module scans an image on the calibration sheet for calibrating the sheet-fed scanner. The cam, driven by a motor, moves the calibration sheet into and out of a scan window of the scanning module. The calibration sheet can be moved out of the scan window without reversing the rotational direction of the motor.
Abstract:
In the present invention, a front-side focal distance L2 is changed without changing a rear-side focal distance L1 so as to bring an MTF value D2 and brightness fluctuation D3 into an MTF balance range, so that collapse of color balance can be improved, and life of optical members such as a light source can be extended.
Abstract:
A digital copying device, which serves as an image reading apparatus for improving processing speed by adjusting the timing of various operations when reading is performed using a sheet-through system, causes a first traveling body to move beneath a white reference plate in order to read the white reference plate, and then performs an ADF shading operation to move the first traveling body beneath a sheet-through contact glass. The sheet-through contact glass is then subjected to a dirt detection operation by reading a dirt detection reference plate, whereupon an original is conveyed onto the sheet-through contact glass by an ADF to perform a sheet-through reading operation whereby an image of the original is read. When a sheet-through reading operation is to be performed, the sheet-through reading operation is started following the reception of an image reading request and after the elapse of a time (T=Ts+Tl−Td) obtained by subtracting a time Td, which extends from the beginning of the sheet-through reading operation to the point at which the tip of the original reaches a sheet-through reading position, from the sum of a time Ts required for the ADF shading operation and a time Tl required for the dirt detection operation.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus for reading a document has an image sensor unit, which is moved along a platen glass in a sub-scanning direction, mounting an LED, a light guide and a sensor. A white reference panel for use of shading correction is provided on the platen glass on the side thereof opposite the image sensor unit. Light shield plates are provided on the platen glass on the side facing the image sensor unit along both sides of the white reference panel.
Abstract:
An image reproduction apparatus includes a scanning unit, a transparent scanning bed optically coupled to the scanning unit, and an adjustable shade associated with the scanning bed, wherein the adjustable shade is configured to be selectively placed across the scanning bed to reduce a portion of the scanning bed.
Abstract:
An image scanning unit includes an image sensor unit disposed along a document delivery path and having an image scanning surface over which a document travels, the image scanning surface opposing a first surface of the document, a white member which contacts a second side opposing the first side of the document and to urge the document toward the image sensor unit, a surface of the white member opposing the image sensor unit being white in color, and a drive roller disposed along the document delivery path adjacent to the white member, delivering the document between the image sensor unit and the white member, and contacting the second side of the document.
Abstract:
A selected section reading method of a flat-bed type multifunction product enables scanning of a desired selected section in the desired resolution by limiting the necessary selected section by inputting the horizontal and vertical direction coordinates through the operation panel after determining the horizontal and vertical coordinates for the scanning section from a ruler of the loading surface. Accordingly, there are the advantages in which a desired selected scanning section included in the total readable domain is able to be scanned in the actual resolution without moving the document or having to pre-scan the document, and the portion scanned in this manner may be magnified, reduced, processed for improved quality and photocopied and transmitted through a facsimile. In addition, the time wasted on reading portions that are needless to the user is saved, and the satisfaction level of user can be increased through the omission of inconvenient operations such as pre-scanning, re-scanning, editing/deleting and the like.
Abstract:
An imaging system, which may be applied both to black and white and color imaging systems and comprising a platen member which defines an imaging portion and a calibration portion is disclosed. The imaging portion and the calibration portion comprise separate portions of the platen member. The platen member is supported by a movably mounted support member, and moves with the support member between a platen member calibrating position and a platen member imaging position. The platen member is dimensioned to support a sheet to be imaged. An imaging module with an imaging zone is supported in a position where the imaging zone is positioned to coincide with a portion of a sheet supported on the imaging portion of the platen member, when the platen member is in the platen member imaging position. A calibration member having a reference reflectivity is adhered to the calibration portion of the platen member. The imaging zone coincides with the calibration member, when the platen member is in the calibrating position. The calibration member lies substantially outside the imaging zone of the imaging module, when the platen member is in the platen member imaging position. A motor moves the support member between the calibrating position and the imaging position to allow performance of a calibration procedure on the imaging module.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an image reading apparatus that can change the amounts of light of an exposure lamp at the time of reading a white reference value (shading correction value) and at the time of reading an image, or changing a signal amplification factor of an amplification section for amplifying the output of a CCD line sensor, by using a white-level correction value which has been read at the time of assembling and adjusting the apparatus. This can provide high-quality images without performing complex image processing even if an indicator is placed at such a location where a user is easy to see and use it.
