An image storage apparatus comprises an image capture unit configured to sequentially capture images of a subject, a storage unit including storage areas to store the images of the subject captured by the image capture unit, a storage controller configured to overwrite a storage area which is permitted to be overwritten with an image of the subject captured by the image capture unit, a life setting unit configured to set a life of the storage area which is overwritten by the storage controller, a life controller configured to change gradually the life of the storage area set by the life setting unit, a determination unit configured to determine whether the life of the storage area changed by the life controller expires or not, and a permission unit configured to permit to overwrite a storage area when the determination unit determines that the life of the storage area expires.
Abstract:
An image transferring apparatus for transmitting image data to a file server has an image input unit allowing input of image as the image data, a memory section for storing the image data, and registration and transmission information of the image data, and a communication controller for transmitting the image data stored in the memory section to the file server. The communication controller has a judgment unit for making a judgment based on the registration and transmission information of the image data as to whether communication condition of the image data is normal or not. The communication controller transmits a request for deleting the image data to the file server in a case where the judgment is made that the communication condition is not normal during transmission of the image data stored in the memory section to the file server.

In an image processing apparatus which is connected to a server and permitted to make an access request to the server, the server receiving the access request only from a request source which is permitted to make the access request, a reader reads an image to obtain an image file, a transmitter accesses the server and transmits the image file to the server to save the image file in the server, a notifier notifies a specified destination that a file operation request for the image file saved in the server is to be received by the image processing apparatus, and a file operating part accesses the server and performs a requested file operation on one of the image file saved in the server and the image file obtained as a result of accessing the server, when the file operation request based on the notification is received from the specified destination.

An image forming device is provided with a sheet feeding unit capable of selectively feeding recording sheets of a plurality of sizes, a print unit configured to print out images represented by print data on page-by-page basis, the print data including information of designated size of the recording sheets. On condition that running out of the recording sheets of the designated size in the sheet feeding unit is detected during printing out of the images, the sheet feeding unit starts feeding the recording sheets of a substitute size which is different from the designated size and the print unit continues printing out of images represented by remaining part of the print data on the recording sheet of the substitute size. A storing unit stores the remaining part of the print data after printing, but not part of the print data printed on the recording sheets of designated size.

An imaging apparatus acquires image information while analyzing the image information into pixel data of multiple color components, and reproduces an image from the image information. The imaging apparatus comprises a memory region reservation unit that reserves memory regions for storing the pixel data of the multiple color components when acquiring the image information. Each memory region is assigned to one of the multiple color components. Also provided is a color determination unit that makes a color determination as to whether each of the multiple color components is recognized as being significant in the pixel data of the image information. In addition, a memory region releasing unit is provided that releases the memory region assigned to the color component that is not recognized by the color determination unit.

In a disclosed image forming apparatus, an original is scanned and image data of the original are obtained. The data size of the image data corresponding to one page of the original is measured. The image data obtained are stored in or deleted from a memory. A storable number of pages of the original that can be stored in the memory is calculated based on the data size measured and available space in the memory. In response to the storable number of pages calculated being less than a total number of pages of the original, the image data of the original is successively stored in and deleted from the memory.

An image processing apparatus having a data converting unit which converts inputted image information into image data which can be outputted by an external output apparatus and an output control unit which outputs the converted image data to the output apparatus, includes: a storing unit which sequentially stores the image data in parallel with the output of the image data from the data converting unit to the output control unit; and an instructing unit which selects a desired one of the plurality of image data sequentially stored in the storing unit and instructs the output control unit to re-output the selected image data. When the re-output is instructed, the output control unit transfers the selected image data to the output apparatus from the storing unit.

An imaging apparatus and method includes an input device to which image data is inputted, a recorder which records the inputted image data into a recording medium, an eraser which erases the recorded image data in the recording medium, a protector which protects from an erasure setting so as to protect from erasure by the eraser of the recorded image data, and a display which displays a list of reduced images of a plurality of image data recorded in the recording medium. While the recorder is controlled utilizing a filing system and the list of reduced images of the plurality of image data recorded in the recording medium is displayed, the display is controlled so as to display a mark indicating that protection from erasure is set with respect to the recorded image data for which protection from erasure is set by the protector.
