    摘要: In this invention a fluorescent lamp is described containing semiconductor laser diodes used to ionize the gases inside the lamp. This avoids the need for a high voltage to cause the gases to ionize sufficiently that current can flow through the lamp. If configured correctly, the use of Mercury vapor to initiate breakdown of the gases can be avoided. Also by regulating the light output of the laser the current flowing through the lamp can be regulated thus avoiding the need for a ballast.

    摘要: A ballast for use in a multi-ballast lighting system wherein the ballasts are coupled together by a digital communication network. The ballast comprises a power circuit portion for providing an electrical current to power a lamp. The ballast further includes a sensor input circuit for receiving at least one sensor input from a sensor device, a processor receiving an input from the sensor input circuit and providing control signals to control the operation of the ballast, and a communication port coupled to the processor and to the communication network for exchanging data. The ballast processor is operative to receive a serial data that has a portion defining whether the message is in a first or a second format, the first format comprising a DALI standard format and the second format comprising a format providing extended functionality. The ballast processor is capable of processing messages in either the first or second formats.

Lighting of the first and second lamp units is started substantially simultaneously, and, in conjunction therewith, the second lamp unit 2B is lit during a period until the discharge lamp 3 has transitioned to a steady lighting state. Thus, insufficient luminous energy during the transient period is complemented. Illumination light patterns originating from a plurality of lamp units are superimposed, thereby obtaining a low-beam light distribution.

In one embodiment, the HID lamp feedback signal can be an ignition voltage signal (266).     摘要: An apparatus for reducing start-up time uses an auxiliary light source and method for the same are proposed. The auxiliary light source has relatively short start-up time to compensate a cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) with long start-up time. The auxiliary light source is a light emitting device and simultaneously turned on with the CCFL. The light-emitting device is turned off when the output light of the CCFL is stable. Therefore, the light-emitting device with the CCFL can provide stable light source for scanner.

    摘要: A vehicle lighting device uses a high-beam discharge lamp and a low-beam discharge lamp, and includes a DC/DC converter circuit, DC/AC converter circuit, starter circuits, and a control circuit for controlling the lighting of the discharge lamps by detecting voltage or current of each said arch discharge. When the high-beam discharge lamp is lit on in a state that the low-beam discharge lamp is lit off, the low-beam discharge lamp is lit on with some time delay to thereby reduce the number of lighting times and the lighting time. When one of the discharge lamps is lighting, the other of the discharge lamps is lit off, thereby reducing the number of lighting times and the lighting time of the other discharge lamp.
