Abstract: Disclosed is a hinge structure for a flat visual display device. The hinge structure comprises: a fixed plate and pivotal plates respectively fastened to the flat visual display device and a supporting portion for straightening the flat visual display device; rotation shafts with first ends placed in the side of the fixed plate and second ends placed in the side of the pivotal plates, the first or second ends being fixed to allow relative rotational movement between the fixed and pivotal plates; braking members provided around the rotation shafts for applying braking force; and braking housings provided around the braking members and with first fixed ends opposite to the fixed ends of the rotation shaft for applying braking force to faces contacting with the braking members.

Abstract: A vehicle door assembly according to this invention has a hinge bracket for mounting on each of a door and body pillar of a vehicle. Each hinge bracket has a pair of spaced-apart legs wherein the pair of legs of one hinge bracket is received within and adjacent to the pair of spaced-apart legs of the other bracket when the hinge brackets are hingedly mated together. Abstract: A hinge assembly for a flat display monitor is enclosed. The hinge assembly according to the present invention includes a support plate fastened to a rear side of a flat display monitor; first and second mount brackets, each having a base side fastened to the support plate and a bracket side with a bracket hole; and a hinge shaft rotatably mounted so as to extend through the bracket hole of each mount bracket. The hinge assembly further includes a hinge tongue fixedly coupled to the hinge shaft, the hinge tongue also being coupled to a support leg; means for limiting an inclination angle of the flat display monitor by limiting an angular position of the hinge shaft; and means for adjusting a torque required to change the inclination angle of the flat display monitor. The hinge assembly of the present invention allows a user to adjust the inclination angle of a flat display monitor easily. In addition, the whole processes of making and assembling the hinge assembly are greatly simplified.

Abstract: A portable computer including two plastic enclosures has a first hinge body attached to a first one of the enclosures. The first hinge body includes a bore formed therein. A flowable lubricant such as grease is disposed within the bore. A second hinge body is attached to a second one of the enclosures. The second hinge body includes an elongated shaft pivotally mounted within the bore having grooves formed on an outer surface of the shaft. A sealing member such as an O-ring is resiliently compressed between one of the grooves and an inner surface of the bore. A friction member is seated in another one of the grooves and in contact with the inner surface of the bore. The seal member has a coefficient of friction such that friction between the seal member and the bore is negligible with respect to friction between the friction member and the bore. The seal member limits the escape of lubricant and the resulting lubricant-induced stress cracks.
