    Abstract: A biaxial hinge which can meet the requirement that the first and the second casings should be able to keep a stable stopping state at any opening and closing angle within the 360 degrees range. A first hinge shaft attached to a first casing of a terminal device is coupled in parallel to a second hinge shaft attached to a second casing by way of multiple joint parts, a first module for selectively restricting rotation and a second module for selectively restricting rotation are provided for selectively allowing the first hinge shaft and the second hinge shaft to rotate, and a first slide plate and a second slide plate are used for the first module for selectively restricting rotation and the second module for selectively restricting rotation.

    Abstract: A hinge mechanism with multiple preset positions is described. According to various embodiments, the hinge mechanism enables a support component to be adjustably attached to an apparatus, such as a computing device. In at least some embodiments, the hinge mechanism utilizes preset hinge positions that enable the support component to be placed at different preset positions. For instance, the hinge mechanism is configured such that an attached support component tends to “snap” into various preset positions. In at least some embodiments, the hinge mechanism includes an emergency escape position that enables the support component to be rotated beyond normal operating positions without damaging the support component.

    Abstract: Technologies are generally described for a kickstand or similar support device connection mechanism in conjunction with computing devices. A substantially constant gap may be maintained between the kickstand and the device enclosure across the hinge rotation spectrum allowing the hinge and/or the kickstand to be level with the device enclosure. The connection mechanism may support various usage loads and rotation angles up to about 180 degrees, as well as allow for low force opening to a first position.
