    摘要： A drill press including a vertically disposed support post and a pivot assembly supported upon the support post is disclosed. A table is supported on the pivot assembly. The pivot assembly is pivotable about a first substantially horizontal axis, with the table pivoting about the first horizontal axis jointly with the pivot assembly. The table also is pivotable relative to the pivot assembly about a second substantially horizontal axis. The pivot assembly also may be pivoted around a vertical axis defined by the post and may be raised and lowered along the vertical post. A clamp plate is adjustably secured to the table and a telescoping extension arm is fixably secured relative to the table by the clamp plate. A guide fence is slidably disposable along the upper surface of the table and may be secured at various locations. A clamp may be adjustably secured either directly to the table or to the guide fence to vertically clamp a workpiece on the table. The table also includes an opening and an inner table which is removably disposable and supported within the opening. A router may be removably secured to the lower surface of the table, with the router bit disposed generally beneath the drill chuck.

    摘要： An engine block reboring system for main bearings in which the block is mounted on a pair of rails extending laterally on a workbed and is rebored by a tool driven by a right-angle drive extension on a vertical boring machine after the position of the block has been adjusted so that the vertical axis of the boring machine spindle and the desired reboring axis are in the same vertical plane, and the proper height for the tool is set for reference, so that the bearings can be rebored by manipulating the spindle vertically and horizontally in said vertical plane with respect to the height reference. Apparatus is provided for initially properly aligning the block and keeping it in aligned position during the reboring operation.

    摘要： By operating a Z direction position adjustment mechanism by a driving motor, a Z table movable in the X and Y directions can be moved in a Z direction while maintaining its horizontal condition. Vibrations caused in the Z table when the Z table is moved at a high speed in the X and Y directions are damped by vibration damping means provided between the Z table and a base bed fixed to a coarse adjustment table which is mounted on a base and driven in the X and Y directions. Improvement in the accuracy of positioning in the X and Y directions is achieved, as well as a vibration damping effect. A chuck holding member is formed on the table to hold a chuck by suction which in turn holds a mounted member by suction, thereby making the exchange of the chuck easy and preserving the parallelism of the upper surface of the chuck.
