摘要： A stump cutting tool for use with a stump cutting apparatus including a rotatable cutting wheel having a pair of side surfaces. A mounting block or pocket forms part of the structure that secures the cutting tool to the cutting wheel. The cutting tool includes a cutting tooth and a tooth holder. The tooth holder includes an elongated shank and a head located adjacent one end of the shank. A bore extends through the head of the tooth holder. The cutting tooth includes an elongated shank with a head portion located adjacent one end thereof. A cutting bit is attached to the head portion. The shank of the cutting tooth disposed and secured within the bore.

摘要： A stump grinder having a clutch assembly which includes a system for cooling the clutch bearings. The clutch assembly is mounted onto a crankshaft extending from the power source for the grinder and a fan is keyed to the crankshaft. The fan that is adapted to drive air over the clutch assembly during operation and thereby cool the same. More specifically, the fan drives air toward the clutch bearings to reduce the temperature thereof.

摘要： A load control system controls movement of a cutter wheel of a stump cutter wherein the cutter wheel rotates at a rotational speed independent of the rotational speed of an engine which powers the stump cutter. The stump cutter includes a hydrostatic transmission having a variable displacement hydraulic pump whereby the rotational speed of the cutter wheel is independent of that of the engine. The load control system includes a sensor for directly or indirectly sensing the rotational speed of the cutter wheel, a microprocessor for determining a response to changes in cutter wheel rotational speed and trim valves for controlling the feed rate of the cutter wheel.

摘要： This is a large rotatable cutter head primarily useful in masticating vegetation ranging from grasses to large trees. The inventive cutter head is typically mounted on an articulating arm on a tractor or tread-based vehicle. Depending upon the size of the arm and its maneuverability, the cutter head may be used to cut and grind vegetation variously from the ground surface to many feet off the ground. The rotatable cutter head assembly includes a number of rotating cutters mounted inside the periphery of the assembled drum and that spin freely outside the diameter of that drum and, upon contact with vegetation, rotate into the drum assembly. The invention includes combinations of the cutter head with the support vehicle or articulating arm and methods of using the cutter head.

摘要： A two piece improved stump grinding tooth comprising a one piece cutting tooth having a hardened cutting bit, preferably made of tungsten carbide, or another material having hardness properties similar thereto, fixedly attached to the body portion of the tooth through brazing or other attachment process.
