    摘要: Provided is a cutting insert having two cutting parts that is capable of entering a workpiece more deeply and easily supports machining of a groove or hole having a small diameter in a workpiece. A cutting insert includes: a body having at least an inner surface to be fixed to a tool body of a cutting tool and an outer surface opposed to the inner surface; and two cutting parts protruding in opposite directions in a longitudinal direction of the body. The cutting part includes: a cutting upper surface; a cutting front surface; and a first cutting side surface and a second cutting side surface. A front cutting edge is located on an edge between the cutting upper surface and the cutting front surface. In a projection view of the body as seen from the longitudinal direction, the cutting upper surfaces of the two cutting parts are oriented in directions opposed to each other, and front cutting edges of the two cutting parts are disposed so as to be more away from each other as being closer to the first cutting side surface from the second cutting side surface.

    摘要: A rhombus-shaped cutting insert has opposing upper and lower surfaces, and a peripheral side surface extending therebetween having alternating obtuse and acute corner surfaces separated by four relief surfaces. The cutting insert is removably secured in an insert receiving pocket of a tool holder and indexable about a central axis. A nose cutting edge is formed at the intersection of one of the upper and lower surfaces with each of the two acute corner surfaces. One of the upper and lower surfaces has an engagement surface having a single primary and four secondary engagement elements. The primary and secondary engagement elements or portions thereof, exhibit mirror symmetry about primary and secondary engagement planes. The primary engagement plane contains the central axis and intersects each nose cutting edge, and each secondary engagement plane does not contain the central axis and forms an acute engagement angle with the primary engagement plane.

    摘要: A cutting tool has a cutting insert secured in a tool shank by means of a clamping bolt, whereby two opposing side surfaces of a body portion of the cutting insert are located between two spaced apart protuberances of the tool shank. The body portion includes a cut-out extending between the two opposing side surfaces and opening out to a bottom surface. The cut-out includes an undercut with at least one undercut sub-surface with respect to a forward direction. The clamping bolt can be rotated from a locked position wherein the bolt shank has a threaded portion engaged in one of the protuberances and a bolt locking portion located directly forward of the at least one undercut sub-surface, to an un-locked position wherein the threaded portion remains engaged in the protuberance and no portion of the bolt shank is located directly forward of the at least one undercut sub-surface.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a clamp mechanism which prevents a tip body from being greatly cut out by a fitting hole to secure strength of a tip without complicating the shape of a head portion of a clamp member or a fitting hole of a tip body. There is provided a clamp mechanism of a tip for pressing the tip, in which a fitting hole is formed through a tip body, by the use of a clamp member having a shaft portion inserted into the fitting hole and a head portion with an outer diameter equal to or larger than that of the shaft portion and thus clamping the tip to a tip fitting seat. In the clamp member, a section, which is perpendicular to the central axis line, of the back surface of the head portion has a circle shape centered at the central axis line. In the tip body of the tip, the head portion of the clamp member can pass through the fitting hole, and a contact portion with which a part of the back surface of the head portion comes in contact at the time of advancing the clamp member is formed in an opening of the fitting hole.
