    Abstract: The anti-skid vehicle tire includes studs mounted in the tread wall and movable between extended road engaging and retracted non-road engaging positions, high and low pressure chambers within the tire wherein the low pressure chamber maintains the tire in inflated condition, pressure responsive expansible means coacting with the studs to control stud position, and valve means for selectively intercommunicating the expansible means with the high pressure air chamber and atmosphere to retract and extend the studs.

Jacket surrounds hard metal pin and includes pair of opposed side edge portions that overlap one another to form a seam. Alternatively, opposed side edge portions of reinforcing jacket may meet along line of contact which is curved and sloping relative to longitudinal axis of metal pin.

    Abstract: A tire has a tread formed with a plurality of buttons in relief, each button comprising an inner unit and an associated outer unit surrounding the inner unit and separated therefrom by an associated separating cavity. Each inner unit exceeds its associated outer unit in height so as to have in relation to its associated outer unit a projecting portion. The volume of the projecting portion equals at most the volume of the associated separating cavity. The buttons are made by an injection-molding process.
