Abstract:
The bead portion of the tire has an inner bead provided inside the tire width direction of a carcass ply and an outer bead provided outside the tire width direction of the carcass ply. The inner bead and the outer bead have a bead core portion including a bead cord formed of a metal material, and a filler portion provided outside the tire radial direction of the bead core portion and formed of a resin material. The inner bead and the outer bead sandwich a carcass ply.
Abstract:
A foldable tire includes a tire main body provided at two edges thereof with two tire beads respectively. A plurality of rings are disposed in each of the tire beads. Each of the rings has a reinforcing core, which includes a plurality of flexible steel filaments helically entwined with each other and has a diameter ranging from 0.2 millimeters to 0.5 millimeters, and a cladding layer clothing the reinforcing core, so that the reinforcing cores located in each of the tire beads are separated from each other.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire has modified dimensions and/or materials characteristics and is designed and constructed for use in place of a conventional, standards-meeting tire of a standards-meeting tire/rim combination. The rim has a bead seat with an outer diameter established by a standards-setting organization to mate with a conventional tire. The modified pneumatic tire has a bead of an inner diameter established by: a) determining a conventional radial force exerted by the bead of the conventional tire on the rim, and b) setting the inner diameter such that, when mounted on the rim the bead exerts on the bead seat a modified radial force between 5% and 25% lower than the conventional radial force.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire 1 comprises an annular bead core 5 embedded in each bead portion 4 of the tire. The bead core 5 is composed of a plurality of wire rings 10 each of which is made of a spirally overlap-wound bead wire 11 and which are arranged in the tire axial direction. The wire rings 11 include a first ring 13 whose bead wire 11 is a twisted cord 13a made of a plurality of filaments 15 twisted together, and a second ring 14 whose bead wire 11 is a monofilament cord 14a made of a single filament.
Abstract:
This invention relates generally to tires having multiple carcasses that wrap around multiple bead cores on a single side of the tire, and, more specifically, to a tire that has a bead core locking insert that eliminates a pullout step for one of the carcass plies or bands during fabrication, This step includes wrapping one of the plies or bands completely around said multiple bead cores that are found on a single side of the tire. In certain embodiments, the tire is an aviation tire that has bands of multiple plies that are wrapped about multiple bead cores found on each side of the tire. The bead core locking insert is found below the multiple bead cores found on each side of the tire and is adjacent to the bands that wrap around the inside and outside head cores, thereby locking these beads and associated bands together.
Abstract:
A tire (10) includes bead portions (16) in which bead cores (22) of resin-covered cord (20) are respectively embedded, and reinforcing layers (14) that are formed of a reinforcing material (30) covered by a resin material, that are each thermally welded to the respective bead core (22), and that extend from the respective bead portion (16) to a side portion (18).
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire construction is provided using one or more folded body ply sheets constructed such that upon formation of the tire, the turn-ups in the sidewalls are looped turn-ups such that there are no free turn-up ends in the sidewalls.

Abstract:
A tire 2 includes beads 10, a carcass 12, and an insert 18. The carcass 12 includes a carcass ply 36. An inner part 34a of each bead 10 includes an inner core 46a and an inner apex 48a that extends almost outward of the inner core 46a in the radial direction. An outer part 34b of each bead 10 includes an outer core 46b and an outer apex 48b that extends almost outward of the outer core 46b in the radial direction. A ratio of a complex elastic modulus Ea of the inner apex 48a to a complex elastic modulus Eb of the outer apex 48b is less than or equal to 0.3. A ratio of the complex elastic modulus Ea to a complex elastic modulus Ec of the insert 18 is greater than or equal to 1.
