Abstract: A cleaning apparatus includes a roller, a conveyor belt and a belt cleaner. The conveyor belt transports food material in a first direction, and the belt cleaner cleans the food material from the conveyor belt as the conveyor belt travels in a second direction, distinct from the first direction. The conveyor belt passes around the roller as the conveyor belt changes from traveling in the first direction to traveling in the second direction. At least a portion of the belt cleaner is located directly below the roller such that food material falling off the conveyor belt when the conveyor belt passes around the roller is caught by the belt cleaner. The belt cleaner includes an enclosure through which the conveyor belt passes and an air nozzle located within the enclosure. The air nozzle directs air onto the underside of the conveyor belt. Preferably, the air nozzle is an air knife, which generates a sheet of air.

Abstract: Provided is a conveyor belt cleaning apparatus, and particularly, to a steam conveyor belt cleaning apparatus which is installed above a conveyor belt and configured to remove foreign substances adhering to the conveyor belt. Provided is a structure of the cleaning apparatus capable of cleanly cleaning, sterilizing, and washing a surface of the conveyor belt by spraying steam to separate foreign substances attached to the surface of the conveyor belt, collecting the foreign substances in a direction toward a foreign substance discharge unit, discharging the foreign substances, and clearly removing the foreign substances. As described above, the cleaning apparatus for removing finely protruding residues, which are foreign substances adhering to the surface of the conveyor belt, and sterilizing and washing the surface of the conveyor belt, such that the surface of the conveyor belt may be cleanly maintained.

Abstract: A cleaning mechanism for use with a closed loop conveyor belt supported in continuous traversing fashion. The mechanism includes a housing for supporting the belt, a frame mounted to the housing proximate to the belt. A drive shaft extends between spaced apart locations of the frame and includes a pair of head sprockets adapted for supporting the belt at a selected location. A motor is engaged to an input end of the drive shaft. A counter weighted comb element is pivotally secured to the frame, an upper angled combed edge of the comb element arrayed in spatial non-contacting fashion with a traversing exterior of the belt for capturing elongated shaving debris suspended from the belt. A slave shaft extends between additional spaced apart location of the frame and which is rotated via a linkage with the drive shaft. Pluralities of bristles extend from the slave shaft in a cylindrical arrangement such that selected width extending portions of the bristles are arranged in successive contact with the belt upon rotation of the slave shaft in order to scrub the belt.

Abstract: A self cleaning apparatus for a belt conveyor. The self cleaning apparatus comprises a rotor positioned adjacent to an outer side edge of the return conveyor portion of the belt, and a rotor housing received about the rotor. The rotor housing has an intake and a discharge, with the intake receiving and directing material on the upper surface of the return conveyor portion to the rotor as the belt rotates. Rotation of the rotor causes the directed material to be propelled by the rotor through the discharge and to be deposited onto the upper surface of the loaded conveyor portion.

Abstract: An automatic clean-out for the charging bin of an asphalt mix bucket elevator provides for removal of material from the bottom of the charging bin so that hardened asphalt mix will not interfere with operation of moving elevator parts upon subsequent restarting. The clean-out device comprises a pusher having an upright front surface and a flat top surface, with a length and width to overlie substantially the whole bottom area of the charging bin. The pusher is actuated forwardly and rearwardly by a double-acting pressure fluid cylinder jack mounted behind it. In moving forward, the pusher expels mix from the bottom of the charging bin through a front opening therein. It is rearwardly withdrawn through a closely fitting opening so that asphalt mix resting on its top is scraped off to remain in the charging bin.

Abstract: A cleaning device for a residue contaminated conveyor belt includes a roller arranged below the conveyor belt such that the lateral surface thereof contacts a lower strand of the conveyor belt, and a cleaning belt is arranged below the roller. The lateral surface of the roller contacts an upper strand of the cleaning belt, which is tilted relative to a main conveying direction at the upper strand relative to a longitudinal roller axis. A dispensing device on and/or above the cleaning belt feeds a solvent thereon. The dispensing device and the cleaning belt are relatively arranged such that the solvent from the cleaning belt is conveyed by a conveying movement of the cleaning belt into a region in which the cleaning belt contacts the roller, which via a rotational movement, at least partially picks up the solvent located on the cleaning belt and dispenses it onto the conveyor belt.

Abstract: An air-powered conveyor belt cleaner is configured with a spinner manifold with cleaning heads having nozzles that output air against a conveyor belt and an opposing catch tray assembly that catches dislodged sesame seeds and small debris or particles from the cleaned conveyor belt. A hanging bracket attaches to opposing sides of the conveyor belt's frame and uses rollers to direct the conveyor belt in a temporarily vertical direction while the air-powered conveyor belt cleaner operates. Once the conveyor belt is vertically-oriented, plant air is directed to inlets at the spinner manifold, which is then output through nozzles perpendicularly arranged relative to the conveyor belt. The cleaning heads are adapted to rotate while operating to increase the agitation against the conveyor belt. The tips of the nozzles/tubes are bent at an obtuse angle to create a thrust caused by the output air.

Abstract: A belt and a belt conveyor are provided for transporting particulate material and especially oilseeds up the belt conveyor. The belt conveyor can include an intake end having a hopper, a discharge end, a body extending between the intake end and the discharge end and a belt. The belt travels along a travel path in the belt conveyor; the belt traveling through the hopper, up an upper run in the body to the discharge end, down a return run in the body, and back through the hopper. The belt can have a top surface having pairs of adjacent ridges provided on the top surface, each ridge having a pair of arms extending from a point, in a travel direction of the belt, wherein each pair of adjacent ridges define a v-channel on the top surface of the belt.
