摘要: An ambulance cot is provided having a wheeled carriage, a frame for mounting the wheels, a horizontally oriented patient litter supported from the wheeled carriage and variable, pneumatically powered height scissors frame. The pneumatic actuator is designed to give a patient air-ride transportation and an adjustable height litter for lifting a patient from the ground. The patient litter has a pivoting hinge for transporting a patient down stairs. This pivot will allow the stretcher to pivot to a horizontal angle while going down stairs, for patient support and ease of transportation for the operator below. One embodiment has tracks attached over the wheels to provide a more stable and smooth ride as the cot is moved down stairs. Another embodiment comprises a translational trolley configuration. A hand brake is mounted on the patient litter for braking the tank-like motion of the tracks.

摘要: The invention provides a reconfigurable patient support pallet system for transporting patients on litters. The patient support pallet system includes a pallet mounted to the floor of a vehicle. The pallet has a plurality of track rails and attachment points for attaching a litter stanchion set, capable of holding a patient in a litter, and/or for attaching a seat to the surface of the pallet. The pallet also includes a plurality of pallet lips and cargo rings on the periphery which provide locations to attach one or more pallet extensions, pallet spacers and/or pallet ramps to increase the usable surface area of a pallet, as well as facilitate safe passage on, off and between pallets by reducing tripping hazards inherent in cargo aircraft.

摘要: An apparatus secures at least two patient supports within a vehicle during transport, particularly adaptable within helicopters. Patient supports are secured to trays that are removably, telescopically connected to bases on a floor of a vehicle. The trays are telescopically, longitudinally, extended relative to the bases. Also, the trays are pivotally attached to a base for pivotal movement about an axis perpendicular to the floor, which includes an electric jack for moving the trays towards and away from the floor.

摘要: A hydraulic system for hydraulically actuating a vertically adjustable ambulance lifting table used for receiving thereon a stretcher and adapted to be selectively switched to a cushioned mode of operation comprises a cylinder for actuating the lifting table, a hydraulic accumulator for cushioning the lifting table, a pump, a three-way valve, and a discharge valve connected to a reservoir of the hydraulic system on the outlet side thereof. In order to prevent the patient and/or the medical personnel from being exposed to danger by the lifting table when the above-mentioned hydraulic system is used, and even if the hydraulic system is actuated incorrectly, the three-way valve is in fluid connection with the pump and the hydraulic accumulator on the inlet side thereof and with the cylinder on the outlet side thereof, a valves is provided between the cylinder on the one hand and the hydraulic accumulator on the other, the valves is controlled such that it assumes an open position only if the pressure in the hydraulic accumulator exceeds the pressure within the cylinder by not more than a predetermined pressure difference, and the input side of the discharge valve is in fluid connection either with the hydraulic accumulator or with the cylinder depending on the pressure prevailing in the hydraulic accumulator relative to the pressure prevailing in the cylinder.

摘要: The entry rolls of a carriage for an ambulance stretcher are arranged at the carriage frame in such a manner that they are displaceable in lengthwise direction to the frame. At the front end of the carriage frame, the entry rolls can be locked by an arresting mechanism in a predetermined position relative to the frame. By releasing the arresting mechanism when the carriage is thrust into the transport vehicle, the entry rolls are shifted backwardly with respect to the frame toward the front legs until they are finally arranged directly under the front rollers of the ambulance stretcher disposed on the carriage.

摘要: An ambulance has two stretcher support stages placed one over the other next to one side wall of the ambulance for taking up stretchers and near the side wall there is a single guiding upright or two spaced guiding uprights, on which runners are guided and on which they may be locked at different heights. On the runners or sleeves, brackets are fixed, more specially by way of horizontal bearings, the stretcher stages being supported on the brackets. Rails running in the length-direction of the ambulance, and designed for supporting the stages, may be changed in length so that the separate runners may undergo separate adjustment in height. The front upright or a support with the same effect is fixed to the side wall of the ambulance or to the ambulance's floor, while the back guiding upright is supported by way of a floor wheel on the ambulance floor, such wheel being fixed directly to the lower end of the upright or to a post on which the upright is supported. Furthermore, the ends of the brackets supporting the lower stage which are nearest to the middle of the ambulance are supported by way of floor wheels on the ambulance floor. The front brackets are joined up by way of bearings (with an upright axis) with the front guiding upright or the support so that the back ends of the two stretcher support stages may be turned towards the middle of the ambulance in a horizontal plane. Furthermore, the guide rails placed towards the middle of the ambulance may be turned about a front upright bearing and may be moved, using a horizontal guide tube with a runner, towards the middle of the ambulance. The back supporting and guiding upright has a locking system for fixing it to the ambulance side wall. Furthermore, the back end of the top stretcher support stage, which is nearer the middle of the ambulance, may be locked with the back door of the ambulance in the transport position by using a locking bolt.

摘要: A litter frame having a supporting platform is adapted to be raised by a hydraulic or pneumatic jack. A common pneumatic or hydraulic system is provided to both raise the platform and to provide spring suspension for the same. Where a common hydro-pneumatic system is provided, the jack assembly is actuated by a hydraulic medium, while a hydro-pneumatic cushioning assembly is loaded by the hydraulic medium. The hydraulic medium is delivered to both the jack and the hydro-pneumatic system from the same hydraulic supply.

摘要: 488,287. Treating solids with liquids ; cyaniding. HARMS, V., and DORR-OLIVER, N. V. Jan. 8, 1937, No. 586. [Class 82 (i)] Apparatus for separating liquids from solids and washing solids in fluid suspension comprises superposed sedimentation chambers which are in hydraulic communication and are provided with rotatable rakes or scrapers. Means are provided in at least one upper compartment to prevent direct transfer of settled material to the next lower compartment, the settled material being withdrawn from said upper compartment or compartments, e.g. by a pump or pumps, other mechanical means, or by gravity, and passed to an external washing or treatment stage from which it is returned to a lower compartment. In the form shown the pulp is fed by a pipe 2 into the feed box 4 of a tank 1 which is divided by floors 10, 11 into three compartments 7, 8, 9 in which work rotating rakes 12, 13, 14. The compartments are in hydraulic communication through the openings 19 through which passes the shaft 15 carrying the rakes, but direct transfer of settled material between the compartments 7 and 8 and 8 and 9 is prevented by upstanding walls 20, 21. Settled material is withdrawn from the compartment 7 by a pump 27 and is discharged into a tank 28 where it is washed by the overflow from the compartment 9 which rises through a pipe 20 provided with a telescopic tube 31 to control the discharge. The washed material is returned by a pipe 29 to the feed box 24 of the compartment 8. The settled material from this compartment is withdrawn by a pump 33 and washed in a tank 34 with liquid from a supply pipe 35, the washed material returning to the feed box 25 of the compartment 9. The final settled product is passed by the rake 14 into a discharge cone 3 provided with a rotating scraper 41 to prevent clogging, and is withdrawn by a pump 40. Liquid from the compartment 8 rises through a tube 37 and overflows the telescopic extension 38, and clarified liquid from the compartment 7 is withdrawn from the overflow launder 5. To increase the washing action baffles or agitating devices may be provided in the tanks 28 &c., the feed pipes, or the feed boxes. The apparatus may be used, for example, in causticizing plants for washing out caustic liquor, in gold recovery by the cyanide process, and for separating soluble materials from pigments.
