摘要： A backyard carousel for small children is constructed from tubing and fittings which are attached into a lightweight unitary superstructure. The tubing and fittings are preferably plastic, with the joints preferably being permanently bonded with a plastic cement. The superstructure is freely rotatable on standard steel pipe, one section of which is firmly anchored in a base surface such as concrete and has its upper end flush with the ground surface, while the other section of which fits inside the one section and extends upwardly to form an internal post for journaling a hub of the tubing superstructure. A thrust bearing between the hub and post facilitates free rotation of the superstructure. Seating is arranged around the periphery of the superstructure with sufficient space between the inner edges of the seats and the hub for children to dangle their legs and rotate the superstructure by foot contact witch the ground. The leg space is large enough for an adult to step thereinto to vertically lift and remove the superstructure and post to enable grass beneath the carousel to be mowed.

摘要： A convertible trailer vehicle is provided having a center section and a pair of end sections hinged at opposite corners to the center section. For transport the sections are aligned with each other for towing in a conventional manner by a tractor vehicle. At its destination the respective ends of the trailer swing in a horizontal plane forwardly and rearwardly against the opposite sides of the center section to define a symmetrical platform which may be used for a variety of purposes, particularly for supporting a roundabout amusement ride. The invention also includes the combination of a trailer vehicle and an amusement ride.

摘要： A track section contains guide grooves for guiding model vehicles and electrical contacts for supplying power to the vehicle. The track section includes provision for rapid and positive mechanical and electrical interconnection with like adjacent track sections by registration of mating parts and simple lateral movement between sections. A single hook and a single corresponding opening on each end of the track section engage with mating elements on like adjacent track sections to permit connection therebetween. Enlarged guide areas appear at the ends of the guide grooves proximate the ends of the track section. The guide areas are in at least partial alignment with like guide areas of like adjacent track sections thereby permitting relatively smooth guidance of model vehicles from one of said track sections to another of said like adjacent track sections despite misalignment between the guide grooves of said track sections.

摘要： A system for operating electrically propelled miniature vehicles along a roadbed having side-by-side current conductive lanes with substantially flush tread surfaces and for remotely controlling the vehicles in a manner to turn out and pass one another at the will of the operator as the vehicles are transferred freely from one lane to another. The roadbed has lane bordering side walls along the outer edges of the outermost lanes. A propulsion motor is mounted on the vehicle body by means providing limited fore and aft movement thereof relative to the vehicle body to effectively operate front steering wheels of the vehicle automatically in response to forward movement of the motor in response to the momentum of the vehicle when the current to the motor is suddenly cut. The motor is forced forwardly through a gear train connecting the motor to driving wheels of the vehicle due to the momentum of the vehicle when the current thereto is cut. On forward movement, the motor engages a front wheel axle assembly and pivots the assembly toward the opposite lane depending on the lateral disposition of a fulcrum portion of the front axle assembly, which positioning is determined by engagement of one of the front wheels with the adjacent lane bordering side walls.
