摘要: An apparatus that is usable with a well includes a tubular assembly and an expansion tool. The tubular assembly has a radially contracted state and includes a restriction. The restriction is adapted to catch an object that is deployed into the well to form a fluid barrier when caught by the restriction. The expansion tool is deployed downhole with the tubular assembly inside a tubing string. The expansion tool is adapted to deform the tubular assembly to anchor the tubular assembly to the tubing string.

The tool further includes a force generator coupled to the gap member and in operable communication with the acoustic receiver and configured to operate in response to receiving the acoustic signal to withdraw the gap member from the gap to cause the spring force retention device to release the spring force thereby applying the spring force to the component.

A downhole expandable liner hanger positionable in a subterranean wellbore may comprise an expansion element. The expansion element may comprise a tubular body. The expansion element may comprise one or more annular seals bonded to the tubular body. The expansion element may comprise a first spike extending from the tubular body. The expansion element may comprise a second spike extending from the tubular body. The downhole expandable liner hanger may further comprise a first slip ring, wherein the first slip ring is disposed around the tubular body of the expansion element between the first spike and the second spike, wherein the first slip ring is configured to expand radially as the expansion element expands.

Each shunt system includes a transport tube and a packing tube extending from a junction block. Each packing tube includes a plurality of nozzles spaced apart from the junction block and from each other. The shunt system of the upper sand screen assembly has a higher pressure rating than the shunt system of the lower sand screen assembly. The wall thickness of the transport tubes of the upper sand screen assembly shunt system is greater than the wall thickness of the transport tubes of the lower sand screen assembly shunt system.

摘要: A method of selectively expanding a wall of a tubular includes assembling an expansion tool comprising a plurality of bi-directional boosters, arranging a predetermined number of explosive pellets a serially-arranged column between the bi-directional boosters, positioning a duel end firing explosive column tool within the tubular, and detonating the bi-directional boosters to simultaneously ignite opposing ends of the serially-arranged column to form two shock waves. The shock waves collide to create an amplified shock wave that travels radially outward to impact the tubular and expand a portion of the tubular wall radially outward, without perforating or cutting through the portion of the wall, to form a protrusion of the tubular at the portion of the wall. The protrusion extends into an annulus adjacent an outer surface of the wall of the tubular.

摘要: A method for completing a subterranean well with a smart completion system includes drilling the subterranean well to a first depth with a first drill string having a first drill string tubular and a first bottom hole assembly with a first drill bit. The first drill string is retrieved and a casing is cemented within the first depth. The subterranean well is drilled to a second depth with a second drill string having a second drill string tubular, a liner, and a second bottom hole assembly that includes a smart completion and a second drill bit. The liner is set within the casing and the second drill string tubular is retrieved, retaining the liner and the second bottom hole assembly within the subterranean well. Fluid from the subterranean well is produced through the second bottom hole assembly.

摘要: Expandable tube members that are fabricated from a composite material that includes a structural plastic, which structural plastic includes phase change materials that undergo a permanent expansion upon exposure to wellbore conditions. This permanent expansion of the structural plastic causes the expandable tube member to expand radially and/or longitudinally without the use of an expansion tool. The expandable tube member can be used to control fluid loss, patch wells, stabilize a formation in a wellbore, enhance flow, provide sand screening, and repair damaged pipes, casings, or liners.
