    摘要: A layer of an aqueous solution containing polyvinyl alcohol and a zirconyl compound is applied to a clean glass surface and dried to produce a precoating thereon. A subsequently-applied phosphor-photobinder coating thereon is exposed to a light image and then developed with a turbulent aqueous liquid. The phosphor-photobinder coating exhibits improved adherence to the surface during the developing step due to the presence of the precoating.

    摘要: Luminescent materials are adhered to TV color picture screens or image display device screens by coating the inner surface of a glass screen substrate with a conductive or non-conductive C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alcoholic or carboxylic solution containing oxygen-rich organic materials selected from the group consisting of silicon salts of relative low molecular weight carboxylic acids, tin salts of relatively low molecular weight carboxylic acids (which can be optionally doped to render them conductive, if desired) or mixtures thereof or a doped tin compound, at least partially drying such coating, as at a temperature of about 150.degree. C., applying a select pattern of luminescent materials onto such partially dried coating and curing or tempering the resultant structure, as at a temperature of about 500.degree. C. so that the luminescent material is firmly embedded within the conductive/non-conductive coating.

    摘要: Phosphor particles coated with a mixture of GeO2 and SiO2 or a mixture of WO3 and SiO2 are dispersed in an aqueous solution of a photosensitive resin together with a protective dispersing agent for the particles in the solution to form a slurry. Y2O3 :Eu phosphor particles with the coating are chemically stable and do not hydrolize in the slurry. The slurry is then applied to the inner surface of a glass tube. The resulting phosphor film is dried, printed and developed by the photographic technique to form a desired pattern of the phosphor material. By the invention manufacturing a bright color picture tube employing Y2O3:Eu phosphor becomes possible in commercial success.

    摘要: A method of forming a fluorescent screen on the surface of a substrate, comprising the steps of: applying a layer of a fluorescent substance and a resin binder onto one side of a film sheet which is soluble in a first solvent but insoluble in a second solvent in which said binder is soluble so as to form a fluorescent film assembly, coating a resin binder onto the substrate surface and contacting said one side of said fluorescent film assembly thereto to cause it to adhere to the substrate and bonding said one side of said film sheet to said substrate surface by means of said resin binder which is soluble also in said second solvent so that said layer of fluorescent substance on said fluorescent film assembly adheres to said substrate surface, and, then, removing said film sheet by dissolving it in said first solvent.
