Abstract:
A content delivery system comprises at least one content server that servers a number of client requests. The content server uses a Threshold-Based Normalized Rate Earliest Delivery First (TB-NREDF) scheduler. The TB-NREDF scheduler imposes a threshold value, or limit, on the number of rescheduling requests.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for information transfer using a cache server are disclosed. A user requests a file via a file requesting device, over a network, from a host. The host transfers the file to a cache server over a connection at a first scheduled time. The cache server then transfers the file, over a second network, to a file receiving device at a second scheduled time.
Abstract:
A data object of a data file that causes an error in an application is identified. In a method for identifying the data object, the data file is processed with the application and the interactions between the application and an operating system are intercepted. The intercepted interactions are correlated with the error and the data object of the data file is correlated with at least one of the intercepted interactions to identify the data object that causes the error.
Abstract:
A pigment ink formulation containing a fluorescing material and a method for pigment ink detection are disclosed. Preferably, the fluorescent material is contained in a fluorescent-wax emulsion. The fluorescent-wax emulsion is added into the pigment inks. A detecting unit comprised of an UV LED and a sensor can then be used to detect the fluorescent emission from the pigment inks. The detecting unit can detect all three color inks. The differences in signal detection can be used for ink identification.
Abstract:
The present application relates to the treatment and diagnosis of mood disorders, including bipolar disorder, major depression disorder and schizophrenia. The invention provides novel diagnostic markers and assays, as well as research tools for the development and discovery of agents and compounds which are useful for treating patients who suffer from mental illness.
Abstract:
In a hybrid peer-to-peer file sharing network including a receiver peer and a provider peer, the receiver sends the provider a ticket [710] obtained from a server authorizing the receiver to obtain a data object O. The receiver obtains a root value of a hash tree for the object, verifies its digital signature, and sends the provider peer a request for a block of data object O and a request for a corresponding set of hash values from the hash tree [714]. The receiver receives from the provider peer the block of O and the corresponding set of hash values of the hash tree [716] that do not contain any hash value in the local hash tree. The receiver sends the provider an acknowledgement of receipt [718], obtains a block key from the provider [720], decrypts the block, verifies the integrity of the block using the subset of hash values and the local hash tree for O, and updates the local hash tree by adding the subset of hash values to the local hash tree, as well as any newly calculated hash values [722]. The provider may submit to a server the acknowledgements as proof of its service to the receiver.
Abstract:
A method of a user terminal obtaining its access location information in next generation network, and a user terminal, and a server having function of Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) function are disclosed. DHCP is extended by adding a new DHCP option to carry the user terminal access location information; when the user terminal accesses to network, DHCP server puts the DHCP option into DHCP response message; receiving the DHCP response message, the user terminal obtains the access location information from the DHCP option. The present invention overcomes the shortcoming of the prior art that when a terminal nomadizes or roams from one access network to another, the access network information configured on the terminal has to be updated manually and thus results in redundant workload and inflexibility, the user terminal is allowed to obtain its access location information automatically, hence nomadicity or roaming of the user terminal is supported.

Abstract:
A system and method schedules downloading of content files from a content server to a client through a cache server. A user can request a content file for future delivery at a certain service time at a certain location such as a hotspot. A cache server receives these requests and sorts them in an order which depends on the relative service times, and eliminates redundancies by only downloading content files not already stored in the cache server. A scheduling algorithm minimizes the instances of tardiness under the constraint of cache storage capacity.
Abstract:
System for a non-volatile memory system is provided. The non-volatile memory system includes a voltage generator system operating in one of a plurality of modes for generating a voltage applied to a memory cell of the non-volatile memory system. For one of the plurality of modes, a first input value is selected for controlling a temperature dependent component of the voltage and a second input value is selected for controlling a temperature independent component of the voltage. The temperature dependent component of the voltage and the temperature independent component of the voltage are controlled independently in response to the first input value and the second input value.
