Abstract: In one aspect of the present disclosure, an apparatus for delivering a powdered agent into a subject's body may include a powder chamber housing the powdered agent. The apparatus also may include a chassis in fluid connection with the powder chamber. The chassis may include a first passage for receiving a pressurized gas, a second passage for receiving the powdered agent from the powder chamber, and a junction in fluid communication with the first passage and the second passage. At least a first portion of the pressurized gas is introduced into the powdered agent at the junction to fluidize the powdered agent.

Abstract: An example system for delivering an implantable medical device is disclosed. The system includes a handle housing having a distal end region, a proximal end region and an inner cavity. The system also includes a power supply disposed within the handle, the power supply coupled to a first and second electric motors. The system also includes a first linear screw coupled to both the first electric motor and an actuation shaft. The system also includes a second linear screw coupled to both the second electric motor and an outer shaft. Further, the first electric motor is configured to be disengaged from first linear screw such that a first tool can be used to engage the first linear screw and the second electric motor is configured to be disengaged from second linear screw such that the first tool can be used to engage the second linear screw.

Abstract: At least some embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an electroporation ablation system for treating targeted tissue in a patient. The electroporation ablation system comprises an ablation catheter including catheter electrodes configured to generate electric fields in the targeted tissue in response to a plurality of electrical pulse sequences delivered in a plurality of therapy sections; a controller configured to receive a first pulse voltage of a first electrical pulse sequence measured during a first therapy section of the plurality of therapy sections; and determine a charge voltage based on the first pulse voltage; and an electroporation generator. The electroporation generator is operatively coupled to the catheter electrodes and the controller and configured to deliver a second electrical pulse sequence at a controlled pulse voltage for a second therapy section of the plurality of therapy sections.

Abstract: An energy delivery probe is provided that may include any of a number of features. One feature of the energy delivery probe is that it can apply energy to tissue, such as a prostrate, to shrink, damage, denaturate the prostate. In some embodiments, the energy can be applied with a vapor media. The energy delivery probe can include a vapor delivery member configured to extend into a transition zone prostate tissue. A condensable vapor media can be delivered from the vapor delivery member into the transition zone tissue, wherein the condensable vapor media can propagate interstitially in the transition zone tissue and be confined in the transition zone tissue by boundary tissue adjacent to the transition zone tissue. Methods associated with use of the energy delivery probe are also covered.

Abstract: An endoscopic imaging system includes a reusable control cabinet having a number of actuators that control the orientation of a lightweight endoscope that is connectable thereto. The endoscope is used with a single patient and is then disposed. The endoscope includes an illumination mechanism, an image sensor and an elongate shaft having one or more lumens located therein. A polymeric articulation joint at the distal end of the endoscope allows the distal end to be oriented by the control cabinet. The endoscope is coated with a hydrophilic coating that reduces its coefficient of friction and because it is lightweight, requires less force to advance it to a desired location within a patient.

Abstract: A control system for a cryogenic ablation system. The control system including an extracorporeal ultrasound sensor and a controller. The extracorporeal ultrasound sensor is configured to detect blood flow in a vein and generate an output signal indicative of blood flow velocity of the blood flow in the vein, and the controller is configured to receive the output signal and determine whether the vein has been occluded by a cryoablation balloon catheter.
