    Abstract: Disclosed is a system in which saturated mercury adsorbent in a gas mercury removal unit is dehydrated in a LNG, LPG or cryogenic gas plant using a regeneration gas stream. Spent regeneration gas stream is then condensed and the water is removed therefrom to form a renewed regeneration gas stream in a closed loop. The regeneration gas stream is compressed and recycled to a location in the plant upstream of an acid gas removal unit or upstream of a regeneration gas dehydration unit such that the regeneration gas stream is not sent to a flare. A dehydration unit having a pair of dehydration vessels, arranged in parallel, alternating between absorption and regeneration modes, receives gas from the compressor. Conventional plants can be retrofitted to achieve improved process efficiencies, cost savings and environmental benefits.

    Abstract: In some embodiments, a system includes a housing having a cavity defined therein for holding a test sample, a first inlet in fluid communication with the cavity to deliver fluid to the test sample, a second inlet in fluid communication with the cavity to deliver fluid to the test sample, the first inlet configured to deliver fluid to the test sample in a direction substantially perpendicular to a direction that the second inlet is configured to deliver fluid to the test sample, an outlet in fluid communication with the cavity to receive fluid from the test sample, and a force applicator configured to apply compressive force to the test sample within the cavity. The force applicator forms a seal with the housing while applying compressive force to the test sample. The system also comprises at least one sensor configured to, while fluid flows from at least one of the inlets through the test sample to the outlet, determine a fluid characteristic, a test sample characteristic, or any combination thereof.

    Abstract: A downhole on-demand power source system can include at least one first energy storage device located within a wellbore disposed in a subterranean formation in a first inactive state. The system can also include at least one first trigger that initiates the at least one first energy storage device from the first inactive state to a first active state. The at least one first energy storage device, once initiated, can provide a first power to an electrical load disposed in the wellbore proximate to the at least one first energy storage device. The at least one first energy storage device, when in the first inactive state, is incapable of providing the first power.
