Abstract:
Panelboard assemblies that are configurable by the end user to accommodate user selected fusible switching disconnect devices of different ratings and sizes. Deadfront interfaces are made possible with terminal covers independently operable from a panel door and a reconfigurable branch circuit enclosure cover. An integral load side disconnect switch facilitates selective coordination of feeder circuit loads, and increased interrupting ratings per volume are made possible.
Abstract:
A modular heat sink includes one or more heat sink sections interconnected sequentially to each other to form a polar array. Each heat sink section includes a first connecting part and a second connecting part, where the first connecting part is configured to couple with the second connecting part of another heat sink section. Once assembled, the modular heat sink includes a channel formed substantially through the center of the modular heat sink. Each heat sink section is manufactured using an extrusion process. The assembled modular heat sink has one or more hollow portions within the overall shape that cannot be fabricated in a single extrusion process. One or more LEDs are coupled to the outer surface of the modular heat sink. The modular heat sink, with LEDs coupled thereto, is coupled to a wireway tube and mounted to a post-top light fixture to form an LED luminaire.
Abstract:
An HID luminaire includes a single luminaire housing that includes thermally isolated lamp and ballast compartments. At least one HID lamp is disposed within the luminaire housing, and at least one ballast is disposed within the ballast compartment. The lamp and ballast compartments are separated by a chamber that includes a substantially nonconductive member, which prevents heat from the lamp compartment from travelling to the ballast compartment. Thermally isolating the ballast from at least a portion of the heat generated by the HID lamp allows the ballast to be disposed relatively close to the HID lamp without becoming overheated and damaged. A hollow, threaded rod extends between and couples together the lamp compartment and ballast compartment. Electric wires connecting the HID lamp and ballast extends through the threaded rod, providing necessary electrical power in an aesthetically pleasing design.
Abstract:
A fuse link auxiliary tube comprises at least one inner layer of paper, at least one layer of polymer film over the at least one inner layer of paper, and at least one outer layer of paper over the at least one layer of polymer film. The at least one inner layer of paper, the at least one layer of polymer film, and the at least one outer layer of paper are wound into a tube shape. An acrylate or acetate layer over the at least one outer layer of paper may be used to structurally reinforce the fuse link auxiliary tube. The paper may be high dielectric strength Kraft paper, fish paper, etc. The polymer film may be polyester film, e.g., MYLAR®.
Abstract:
Interactive, computer implemented systems and methods for analyzing issues raised by promulgated industry standards for complex electrical product and system design. Data and information related to the electrical system and to the promulgated standards of interest are archived in the system databases, and with an intuitive menu driven user interface and graphic displays, interested users may rather quickly evaluate complex product designs for certification with desired promulgated standards applicable to the product and system design.
Abstract:
A monitoring module for a fusible switch disconnect device includes an open fuse detecting element and wire leads for completing an electrical connection with a fuse.
Abstract:
An improved vacuum interrupter is made. The vacuum interrupter includes a ring-shaped structure placed between a contact support structure and an electrical contact associated with the contact support structure. A resistivity of the ring-shaped structure is higher than that of the contact support structure, so that current traversing the ring-shaped structure on its way from the contact support structure to the electrical contact is evenly distributed. The ring-shaped structure may be fit into an end portion of the contact support structure, the end portion having a diameter less than an outer diameter of the support structure, but greater than an inner diameter of the support structure. Alternatively, the end portion may be used without the ring-shaped portion, in which case the electrical contact may be shaped to fit into the end portion.
