摘要: In a method and arrangement for reducing printer errors while printing on a print medium in a mail processing device a print data controller for pixel data editing while printing with a printhead contains logic for error reduction having a resettable encoder clock counter. Encoder pulses corresponding to the relative motion between the printer and the print medium are generated. Using these pulses, incremental and decremental counting occurs for evaluating a condition with diminished time spacing of neighboring encoder pulses. A direct memory access (DMA) for a data string of binary pixel data ensues for implementing a print cycle for the data string, and a further direct memory access ensues during the print cycle for a next data string. Following the implementation of the direct memory access for the next data string and dependent on the time spacing of the encoder pulses of a number of successive encoder pulses, the print cycle is completely executed as long as the average value of the encoder period does not downwardly transgress the set duration of a print cycle. In the case of a diminished time spacing of the encoder pulses of the number of encoder pulses, the execution of the print cycle for the printout of binary pixel data of a previous data string is prematurely aborted.

摘要: In a method and arrangement for controlling a dynamic scale, the conveying speed of a conveyor belt for items of mail in the dynamic operating mode is independent of the format of the pieces of mail. During dynamic weighing, a controller of the scale deactivates the normal speed regulation for a DC motor and an unregulated pulsed voltage is applied to the DC motor. By an interaction of the motor with a tensioning device for a defined setting of the conveyor belt tension and due to a vibration-damped structure of the conveying arrangement of the scale, the conveying speed changes dependent on the weight of the piece of mail in a measuring time range.

摘要: A method of opening a security housing that requires authorization and unlocking moves the printing module transversely by a transverse mover into an additional unlocked position, as a result of which, the security housing or an access thereto is unlocked. The configuration has a mechanical locking or element and a printing module. The printing module is mounted such that it can be moved transversely to the transporting direction, for mechanically releasing the lock of a security-housing part directly or indirectly, by the security-housing part only being released once an additional security-housing part has been unlocked. The latter has a locking element that is disposed in the interior of the security housing and can be actuated by the printing module.

摘要: A method for controlling the printing in a mail processing device proceeds on the basis of a word-by-word storage of binary pixel data in the pixel memory with a predefined number of successive data words forming a data string, and a predefined number of data strings representing at least one print image. This facilitates a modification of variable binary pixel data in the pixel memory when the sequence of the binary pixel data in at least a part of the respective data string coincides with the sequence of pixels in at least one corresponding print image column that is provided for the printing. After a word-by-word transmission of binary pixel data of a data string from the pixel memory by direct memory access (DMA), an intermediate storage of the data string ensues in a pixel data editing unit before a pixel data editing is implemented during the printing with an ink jet printhead. The ink jet printhead is supplied with selected binary pixel data grouped in a predefined sequence that is dependent on the type of the ink jet printhead that is employed.

摘要: In a method and apparatus for generating a print image, particularly a franking imprint, on a first image carrier composed of at least one first partial image and a second partial image offset thereto transversely relative to a first direction, whereby a relative motion between a print head and an image carrier is generated along a first direction in a first step for generating the first partial image. A transverse offset between the print head and the image carrier is generated in a second direction proceeding transversely to the first direction in a second step. A relative motion between the print head and the image carrier is generated along the first direction in a third step for generating the second partial image. The waiting time interval between the end of the printing event of the first step and the beginning of the printing event of the third step has a length that is varied according to a prescribed function.

摘要: A postage meter machine has a chip card write/read unit and a controller which, in conjunction with suitably initialized chip cards, allows the function input and the administration of cost center data to be handled in a simplified manner. For deriving chip cards that set a limited function scope, a table with a specific hierarchic structure can be produced using the keyboard and display and with the assistance of the microprocessor and the appertaining non-volatile memories within the postage meter machine, so that the pre-stored structure is correspondingly modified by the user. A tree structure in the hierarchy thereby arises for second chip cards and further successor cards derived from the first chip card, particularly specific function application cards that allow access to the table with their chip card number internally stored in the chip card. The allocation of a chip card number to function applications with limit data can be arbitrarily selectably stored in non-volatile memory areas A, B, C by the authorized user.

摘要: A configuration for folding sheets with an increased functional reliability and field of use folds sheets of different lengths through the use of folding rolls and an adjustable stop in such a way that automatic matching of a folding gap to a thickness of a material to be folded is carried out and a folding blade and a folding pocket can be dispensed with, while executing the functions of simple folding, multiple folding, turning and smooth passage. The configuration includes folding rolls which rest against each other in a resilient manner and have a given diameter. Pressure rolls with a diameter which is smaller than half the given diameter are disposed in such a manner as to be adjustable and axially symmetrical in relation to the folding rolls. Furthermore, a stop can be adjusted into a region between the pressure rolls and at the same time is a diverting element. The pressure rolls are subdivided in the axial direction defining gaps therebetween and the likewise subdivided stop has an adjustment path projecting into the gaps. A conveying device in the form of additional driven guide rolls and further pressure rolls assigned thereto is provided as required.

摘要: In arrangement for keeping clean the nozzles of an ink print head with a large number of nozzles, the printhead having an ink print module or of several ink print modules assembled in stacked construction, and a seal bonnet and a wiping lip arranged positionally on the ink print head, a cleaning module is provided alongside the ink print modules on the ink print head, and the seal bonnet is flexibly positioned on the ink print head and is formed so that the front surface of all the ink print modules, as well as the front surface of the cleaning module, can be simultaneously covered. In addition, the seal bonnet is kinematically coupled with the wiping lip. Cleaning ensues by expelling ink and/or suctioning ink into the seal bonnet, and subsequently emptying the seal bonnet of ink, and mechanically wiping off the ink print head.

摘要: An arrangement for an electronic manual franking machine having an ink printer head and having an integrated system for controlling and supplying the ink printer head includes a housing containing a first assembly composed of a carriage, an ink printer head with a replaceable ink tank, and a second assembly composed of a write-read unit for a postage credit card, a microprocessor as well as a rechargeable battery with charging terminal, and an adapter with a mains terminal and, as needed, a data terminal. The adapter includes a battery charging device and a cleaning device and is fashioned as a deposit and docking station for recharging, cleaning and sealing of the manual franking machine. The carriage is fashioned so that the recording medium is rendered taut in the printing region. The cleaning ensues by ink ejection and/or extraction into the sealing cap, by sucking the sealing cap empty with a suction pump and wiping the ink printer head at a wiper lip.
