摘要： A cervical collar has an anterior portion and a posterior portion having side extending portions removably connecting to the anterior portion. The posterior portion includes a rigid or semi-rigid main support piece and a resilient edge integrally secured to at least a substantial portion of a periphery of the main support piece that is substantially more flexible than the main support piece. The main support piece defines opposed upper side sections and a lower section. The upper side sections extend upwardly from the side extending portions and are oriented toward a proximal middle region and spaced apart by a first distance. The lower section extends continuously between the side extending portions and is spaced a second distance from the upper side sections.

摘要： A spacer element for use in an orthopedic or prosthetic device includes an apertured fabric layer having first and second fabric layers. A discrete and continuous web-like frictional layer is laminated onto the first fabric layer and has greater frictional properties than the fabric layer. The frictional layer has a plurality of apertures arranged in a pattern in direct correspondence to a pattern of the first surface layer apertures. A compressible material layer has opposed first and second surfaces, wherein the first surface is secured to the second surface layer. The compressible material layer has a first compression molded region with reduced thickness and increased density relative to a second region of the compressible material having a predetermined thickness.

摘要： An orthopedic device includes a rigid frame assembly having rigid frame supports connected by joints. The device also includes a strap which extends between sides of the frame assembly. An orthopedic component in the form of a resilient subshell is connected to and extending flexibly outwardly from the frame assembly. The subshell has a main body and a perimeter edge portion secured along the periphery of the main body wherein the perimeter edge portion is formed from a material having less hardness than a material used to form the main body. The strap is connected to at least one end portion of the subshell.

The knee brace having a frame, and at least one cross strap that is connected to the frame and extends across over at least a portion of the first and second brace sides. The at least one cross strap is arranged obliquely relative to the median plane. The brace also includes a tightening mechanism that is connected to the frame and is configured to incrementally tension the at least one cross strap at predefined settings and to release tension on the at least one cross strap. A first end of the at least one cross strap engages the tightening mechanism. A dosage meter is connected to the frame, and includes an indication feature representing tension settings of the at least one cross strap.

The knee brace includes a ventilated, flexible proximal shell generally extending between the first and second sides on the anterior side of the brace, and a flexible distal shell connected to the proximal shell and generally extending across the first and second sides on the anterior side of the brace. The distal shell has an extension segment extending from one of the first and second sides to the posterior side of the brace. The proximal and distal shells include suitable openings and slots for attaching brackets and mechanical devices. The proximal and distal shells each include a body portion and a compliant edge. The compliant edges are formed from flexible resilient material that is configured to extend beyond the outer perimeter of the body portion of each the proximal and distal shells.

摘要： An orthopedic device includes an orthopedic frame, a strap system connected to and depending from the frame and arranged to secure to a limb or joint of a wearer, and a bladder system connected to the strap system. The bladder system has a bladder positioned on the strap system and is arranged between the strap system and the limb or joint of the wearer. The orthopedic device may also include a load cell device connected to the strap system and arranged to monitor pressure exerted on the limb or joint of the wearer, and a tightening mechanism connected to the load cell and arranged to adjust the pressure of the strap system in response to a pressure reading from the load cell. The bladder system and the load cells supplement the strap system to provide for more dynamic support to the limb or joint of the wearer.
